Because sometimes there are better things than "The Bachelor."

18 Things I'd Rather Do Instead Of Watch ONE More Episode Of Colton On 'The Bachelor'

Writing an article last month about how hype this season of "The Bachelor" would be, it has kind of turned out to be a bust. With being incredibly busy, thinking that "The Bachelor" randomly comes on Tuesday, and a focus on Colton's virginity this season is a comedy show.

Here are things I would rather do this semester than watch another episode of "The Bachelor":

1. Go To Class

Unfortunately, I would rather sit through one of my most boring classes and do better on a test. The lectures might actually be more entertaining.

2. Do More Studying

I would rather do more studying this semester and not waste two hours of time I know I won't have later in the week. I can use this time to go out on a Saturday night instead.

3. Read A Book

I know this is a challenging one besides doing hundreds of pages of reading per week, but this can be achieved on any weekend by waiting to have brunch with your friends.

4.  Go Out

You technically could have a bachelor watch party, but at the same time people are also studying. You don't want to skip on going out because you chose to watch the bachelor on Monday night or have to do studying instead because of that decision.

5. Go To The Gym

Going to the gym can be hard and easy at the same time. Maybe instead of taking the bus that extra mile across campus, walk instead and get your steps in. A little exercise and walking never hurt nobody.

6. Have Dinner With Friends

Nothing beats a Monday night than going to the dining hall with your closest friends. Real, personal interaction is always more meaningful than technology.

7. Find A New Passion

With four weeks into the semester and the club fair twice a year, putting your passions first helps develop your goals and strengths. Finding a new hobby with people is more beneficial than watching television.

8. Listen To A Podcast

While eating breakfast or walking to class, maybe listen to a new podcast. For collegiate women, a fabulous recommendation is "I'm tired" by Grace Valentine. Christian or not, she talks about the challenges women face life in and after college and how we can grow from them.

9. Get To Know Your Roommate More

Getting to know your roommate can be crucial to your well-being. Creating a team bond and positive environment for both people is rewarding and fun, but also has its challenges. Being an only child prior to coming to college, living with another person is great experience.

10. Find A New Television Show

If you're like me, it may be hard to watch television at all, but if you are in a show hole, this may be the thing for you. Finding a new show can keep life upbeat while discovering different television genres.

11. Adding More Positive Music To Your Playlist

If you look at the top charts, most of the music is destructive and focuses on more negative than positive. Find more positive music that encourages you to get work done, and be the best you can be.

12. Getting Involved In A Campus Ministry

I used to think that going to the gym by myself was fulfilling. Going to the gym depends on what kind of person you are. I don't think the gym is very uplifting because it's a bunch of people working out alone, together. That's just weird to think about sometimes.

13. Go To Target

Going to target at least once a semester is a college girl's dream. Even if you don't feel like cleaning your room, there's always another alternative.

14. Go See A New Movie

With easy accessibility to Netflix, it's easy to pop open your laptop and watch a basic, no thought-provoking movie. Going to the actual movie theater can be more exciting to see a more high-quality movie.

15. Do Online Shopping

Doing online shopping when you actually have spare time is beneficial, even when you know it will be impossible to carry all the packages back to your dorm at once.

16. Eat At A New Local Restaurant

This is perfect for going out with friends for brunch off campus on weekends. There's plenty of places to try in a small town with fresh food.

17. Go To A New Sporting Event

Even if your school does pride itself in being good at one sport, like football, this doesn't mean that the other sports are less important. Some suggestions are field hockey, baseball or swimming.

18. Attend A University Activities Board Event

Typically the activities board can be fun such as ice skating or a cheap on-campus movie. And these are not just for freshman living on-campus.

Even if you feel like you have done everything you can possibly be interested in, the possibilities are endless. With enough scheduled time, achieving all of these this semester may not be that hard after all.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
