Best Moments Of UGA V. Notre Dame

On Saturday, September 21st, UGA's Bulldogs went up against Notre Dame's Fighting Irish for the third time ever. After a rocky start, the Dawgs came out on top with a 23-17 win, helping them to keep their #3 rank and pushing Notre Dame back to #10.

Saturday in Athens was extra special on the twenty-first night of September with Notre Dame's Fighting Irish in town. A day jam-packed of events that made the Bulldog Nation louder than ever. With record attendance in Sanford Stadium and around 300,000 people who made their way to the Classic City to see just how lucky the Irish are, the day was exciting as ever. With ESPN's College GameDay on Myer's Quad and a game between #3 and #7 on Dooley Field, Athens was the place to be on September 21st. There were many great moments throughout the day, but a few stood out.

1. Rick Flair being there.

College GameDay brought WWE star and Bulldog fan, Rick Flair. His "Woo Woo" livened up the audience who had been waiting hours for the show to finally begin. He was the perfect start to begin a long and exciting day!

2. Lee Corso wearing the Hairy Dawg head.

Nothing screams Bulldog pride more than the country's favorite mascot, UGA. In the past, Lee Corso publicized his resentment for the French Bulldog. However, during the College GameDay festivities, Corso forgot his hatred and put on the Hairy Dawg head – making the crowd erupt in cheers!

3. The F16 flyover.

I have seen fighter jets in my life, but something made the flyover on Saturday night extra special. With the jam-packed stadium – prepping for the game – the F16 jets flying over Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium, created an atmosphere of Bulldog and Georgia pride that continued throughout the night!

4. The Redcoat halftime performance.

Every Georgia fan loves the Redcoat Band, but their performance on Saturday night was a little extra special because it included the audience. The band's Karaoke Spectacular had the crowd on their feet, keeping the fan's engaged regardless of football. The performance helped to keep the energy in the stands up and ready for the second half of the game!

5. D’Andre being swift on the field.

Momentum started picking up after halftime. Play after play put the Bulldogs back on top, but the most exciting moment happened in the third quarter by Georgia Runningback D'Andre Swift. Completely hurdling a Notre Dame player in an attempt to get further to the Endzone, Swift's performance had the crowd in awe, putting the Fighting Irish out of luck!

6. The “Lighting up” of Sanford.

Throughout the week leading up to the game, there were different rumors and predictions – some of which came true and others not. The much-anticipated lighting up of Sanford started extra special due to the pitch-black skies. After the tradition concluded, fans were still excited for the final quarter, but were hoping that the rumor of a "red out" would have taken place … until it did. A blaze of red LED lights made its way throughout the stadium and brought about a dynamic sense of Georgia pride!

7. The mad dash to the hedges.

As a freshman, I have dreamt of the moment where I can storm the field alongside my classmates after a victory. While the dash to the hedges was not as amazing as being between them, it was still an amazing feeling. It represented pride in the university and team, but most importantly, a pride in the Dawgs. It showed how important this win was not only for the football program but the students and the University of Georgia as a whole. Everybody who lined up alongside the hedges knew that the next time we will be this excited for a win will be in a Playoff matchup!

8. Fromm & Blankenship on the golf cart.

I do not believe it is possible for a more iconic duo – every Bulldog's favorite Kicker, Rodrigo Blankenship, with every Bulldog's favorite quarterback, Jake Fromm. While fans were still victorious over Georgia's win, cheering on the players along the hedges, a golf cart passes the student section with Fromm and Blankenship in the back. The two players who symbolize so much for the team spotted riding right next to each other is every fan's dream. This was their victory ride right in front of the student's who cheered on their favorite team at such high of a caliber that everybody realized, UGA is now home to the 12th man!

The best moment of the day was yet another Dawg's Win! With one of the most talked-about games of the season under Georgia's belt, it is only up from here and hopefully an SEC Championship in December. The game and festivities showed every UGA fan how great it is to be a Georgia Bulldog!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
