Easiest matchups:
Georgia Tech: Despite this being in Atlanta instead of Athens, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have fallen at the hands of the Bulldogs in consecutive years now after taking the win in 2016 at Sanford stadium. The Jackets are in the midst of a coaching change which will take significant adjustment due to their reliance on such a specific system.
Murray State: A tier two team that went 5-6 a year ago will not pose much of a threat to the Bulldogs. This is just the second game of the season so the team will likely be near full strength. The Racers will be in for a rude awakening in Athens.
Toughest matchups:
Notre Dame: This one had to make the list, right? It's tough to envision a Sanford Stadium takeover much like the wave of red that Georgia rode into South Bend. Notre Dame is no joke despite being blown out in the playoff game the previous year. They will bring their best to Athens.
Auburn: The last time that the Bulldogs went into Jordan-Hare stadium, they crumbled for the first time that season. Last year, the Tigers came into Sanford Stadium and were dismantled by the Bulldogs. Auburn is already looking significantly longer than they did last season making this one of the tougher matchups on the season.
Trap games:
Kentucky: Despite losing their top running back to the NFL, Kentucky is still largely the same team that won ten games the year before. This game is in Athens which should give Georgia players a sense of security but they cannot become too comfortable. The Bulldogs offense will need to bring their best to counter that strong Kentucky defense.
Tennessee: The Volunteers are going into 2019 with a lot to prove according to quarterback Jarrett Guarantano. After winning just 5 games last season, the Vols are looking to rebound and get back to bowl-eligible status. They will be playing with a chip on their shoulder after being throttled by Georgia in each of the last two meetings. The atmosphere in Neyland Stadium will be nothing to scoff at either. Georgia must be ready to avoid the letdown.
