How To Spend Spring Break When You're Spring Broke.

All you need is a little creativity!

Spring break is a time that all college students look forward to, even when they don't have a lot of money. Big plans aren't needed to enjoy spring break, just a little bit of creativity!

1. Have a girl's night.

You could have a movie night, do mani/pedis, and eat all the junk food you desire.

2. Explore your hometown.

You've lived there most of your life, but how much do you really know about your hometown?

3. Take a little road trip.

Plane tickets can be super expensive, but that doesn't have to stop you from traveling! Jump in the car with some of your closest friends and drive until you find a perfect destination.

4. Get crafty.

You can try painting, making bracelets, taking pictures, etc.

5. Go to a concert

Whether it's a road trip to see Billie Eilish or Harry Styles, or just going to a local venue, checking out some cool artists with your friends can be super fun.

6. Get a makeover

You can try a bold, new haircut or a different makeup look.

7. Have a movie marathon.

8. Take a trip to the beach.

The best thing about the beach? It's free!

9. Visit an amusement park.

Most amusement parks have various rides that are perfect for people of all ages.

10. Go to the zoo.

Most zoos have cheap admission fees and are perfect for a day trip.

11. Visit an arcade

An arcade is a perfect place to spend a whole day with friends and lots of games.

12. Go to a local lake

Most lakes have pretty cheap entry fees and there's a ton of things to do. You can swim, sunbathe, kayak, etc.

13. Have a photoshoot

Whether it's taking pictures of yourself, friends, or nature, a photoshoot could be a fun way to spend a day of spring break.

14. Go thrifting

This is one of my personal faves. I love going thrifting with friends, family, and just alone. You can find so many cool, vintage articles of clothing for super cheap prices.

15. Go home with another one of your friends

Try meeting their family or some of their friends! Take in a change of scenery.

16. Make some extra money

Try working at a local restaurant, store, or just a few under the table jobs.

17. Sleep

Something us college students never get enough of.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
