Loving Yourself Or Being A Narcissist

Go Ahead, celebrate yourself!

A narcissist walks around in a garden, holding a hand mirror. Looking into the mirror the narcissist says, "I love you!" During the whole time, the narcissist is stepping on the plants, animals, and flowers. They are ignoring other people's feelings. The sad part is they don't even care.

A person who loves themselves gets out of the shower, looks in the mirror and say, "I love you." The person in front them says it back, even winks back at them. Then the person with self-love goes on with their day. They meet people, attend events, and have their own share of highs and lows. They see plants and animals and treat them with compassion. They see other people and treat them with love and respect, the same way they treat themselves. The person with self-love does care for themselves, but they also look out for the others.

When the narcissist looks into the mirror, they only see their face, nothing else. But when a person with self-love looks into the mirror, they see a happy person, and as happily they see themselves, they also see the life- the beautiful, precious beings that live and feel.

When you love yourself, you know yourself. You are aware of all the flaws and weaknesses. You accept that sometimes you can be wrong and it is okay. You don't look down on yourself, rather you try to make things right. You try as best as you can. If you fail, it's okay because you're a human; And humans cannot be perfect.

When you love yourself, you take care of yourself. You do things that are good for your mind and body. If you feel like something is making you upset, you try to stay away from it. You take complete responsibility for yourself and try to act on it on a daily basis.

When you love yourself, you accept yourself. You are a beautiful human being that allows themselves to be you. You give the world the best version of yourself and there is no reason for it to be not acceptable.

Love should come from within. It should travel through every bone, limb, and vein within yourselves and emit as a radiating presence in the world. You wake up in the morning and what is the first voice you hear? YOUR'S. When you step in front of a mirror and see a reflection, who's in that reflection? YOU ARE. And who wants you to be able to smile and feel beautiful, more than anyone else in this world? YOU.

You are beautiful, inside and out, and you deserve to know that!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
