Don't forget to take time for yourself
Start writing a post

Sometimes we are so caught up in every day life and the next big thing in our lives or the next big project at work or the next weekend or whatever that we completely lose sight of taking care of ourselves. It's so easy in today's world to be caught up in everything that's going on around you and you can so easily get caught up in everyone else's life but you always need to bring the focus back to your life and back to you. You always need to make sure that you're taking care of yourself and making time for yourself, no matter how hard it might be to do.

In today's world, it's so easy to look at our phones and get caught up on social media and compare yourself to both people you know in real life and people you've never even met. It's easy to think that if you keep going and going, you'll have what they have or you'll be able to get to the next level of whatever it is you're striving for. It's so easy to compare yourself and get down on yourself that you can easily lose sight of all that you've done and how far you've come. Don't forget to remind yourself of all of your hard work and to take a moment for yourself to acknowledge your accomplishments and to be proud of yourself.

Don't forget that no one else in the entire world is you, so don't always look to compare yourself with other people. Give yourself a little bit of love and comfort in knowing that. You might not be the tallest, skinniest, funniest, loudest, whatever else you're talking down to yourself about - but that's why you should love yourself. Because you aren't those things, but because you're you and no one else in the entire world is you and can do the things that you can do.

Give yourself a little self love because no one else in the world is going to make sure to take time out of their day to do that for you. You can always bust your butt and keep grinding to the next thing, but don't forget to take that step back and make sure that you're happy with how you're getting there and with everything your doing. You can always put so much pressure on yourself to do the next thing, get to the next level, impress the next person, but you always need to make sure that you're enjoying it and you're happy along the way.

Even though we'll always get caught up in the day to day dramas and the daily grind that everyone in this world is going through, don't forget to take care of yourself. Don't forget to take those few moments each day to give yourself a little love and remind yourself of how far you've come and that you're perfectly you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
