Self-love and being a girl boss are two very big movements right now in our society, especially for college students. However, while these movements seem to be the most polar opposite as you can get, they are very important together. It's like how fall makes you crave a pumpkin spice latte (come on, we all drink them). Being a girl boss should make you crave self-love.

Having a girl boss attitude and the ability to hustle really can be important, but if you aren't dedicated to taking care of yourself, then you are going to run out of steam. Make sure your put self-love on your to-do list every day. After all Urban Dictionary defines "girl boss" as follows:

A woman in control, taking charge of her own circumstances in work & life. Someone who knows her worth and won't accept anything less. She is not a "mean girl" in fact, she hates "mean girls." She is empowering and inspiring to those around her. She kicks ass! A girlboss knows that if you don't have big dreams and goals, that you'll end upworking really hard for someone who does.

Knowing your worth also include self-love? I think so, too.

Self-love doesn't have to be a face maskĀ

Even though face masks and having a solid skin care routine is really important, self-love doesn't have to be just that. Self-love can be a variety of things, like getting your nails done when you are having a bad day or when you do well on a test, drinking water in-between your iced coffees or taking the time to sit down and eat your food instead of eating while doing homework. Self-love doesn't have to be a huge ordeal, but doing simple things every day that makes you feel good should be an important part of your life.

Don't let being a girl boss keep you from being healthyĀ

In fact, self-love is really just loving yourself enough to be healthy. A lot of girls associate the girl boss movement with being overly busy and always hustling but that's not always a good thing. You can keep your hustle and still be all about self-love. If you stay up late a lot of the time and are tired, give yourself one day where you go to bed early or sleep in. Take time to go to the gym and let your brain recharge, or even just take five minutes to yourself throughout your busy day. There should never be a time that school, work, or your social lives compromise your health in any way. Remember to drink water, eat meals not just snacks and get sleep because it will help your overall hustle if you aren't running on empty.

Love yourself enough to stop doing things that don't inspire youĀ

Let your hustle include things that make you happy. If you cannot stand going to a club meeting anymore, stop going. If you feel unfilled doing an activity in your daily life, then drop it. The most influential girl bosses love what they do; they are passionate about their hustle. Love yourself to find those things that inspire you! Also, it doesn't hurt to have a girl boss playlist that really gets you in your hustle, there is nothing like Demi Lovato's song "Not Sorry" that really gets me going.

Love yourself and everything will fall into placeĀ

You got big dreams, I get it, but if you take the time to love yourself and put on a face mask once a week. You are investing in yourself. Scientifically its proven that by loving yourself you are more successful and confident, and what's more girl boss than that?

The idea that being a girl boss means running yourself ragged is false. Being a girl boss means that you take the time for yourself so you can handle your crazy days. Now go, love yourself and get you an iced coffee... but then don't forget to drink some water after. You can conquer the world!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
