In 2004, the Carolina Panthers lost their first and only Super Bowl that they went to to the New England Patriots. A little over 10 years later, they have made it back to the Super Bowl to face the Denver Broncos. The Denver Broncos have a phenomenal defense and future hall of fame quarterback in Peyton Manning, so this will not be an easy win for Cam Newton and the Panthers. On February 7, 2016 Cam Newton will win his first Super Bowl and the Panthers will make history. Here's why.
1. Defense
Luke Kuechly is the best middle line backer in the country, plain and simple. He is a leader for the Carolina Defense and has been tearing it up throughout the playoffs with two interceptions. Josh Norman and Jared Allen complete the defense giving the opposing offense absolutely no room to run the ball or throw it to their best receiver. The Panthers have a faster, younger defense with incredible pace and unselfish game play.
2. Age
Let's be real here -- Peyton Manning is old. He's beat up bad and one solid hit could potentially end his career. The Carolina Panthers are a faster, more talented, and overall younger team than the Denver Broncos.
3. Momentum
The Carolina Panthers are 15-1, losing only to the Atlanta Falcons. They just pummeled the Arizona Cardinals and before that the Panthers defeated the Packers with ease. Carolina is making other great teams look like high school football teams. The field feels like boys against men whenever they are on the fired and I don't see that changing anytime soon. This team is used to winning by a large margin; every time they need a big play, Cam Newton gets it.
4. Cam Newton
He is the closest thing to a unicorn that any football fan has ever seen. Cam is 6'5", around 250 pounds, and can run like a horse. This guy is the real deal. He can throw a football about sixty yards in the air and has a great receiving core. On top of being able to run and throw, Cam is quick, shifty, and strong. Cam Newton is a winner and at the top of his game right now. He has a reputation for his Superman celebration because he really seems like Superman once he's on the football field. I believe the Panthers will be Super Bowl 50.
