Key to H A P P I N E S S.

You deserve the good life.

Key to H A P P I N E S S.

Believe in SOMETHING.

Believe in something. Believe in God. Believe in yourself. Believe in your family and friends. Believe that you are going to get your dream job. Believe that you are going to win the Beyoncé concert tickets that you put your name in a drawing for on the Radio. Believe that the cheesy potato burrito that you ordered at Taco Bell is about to be the best burrito you’ve ever had. Believe that you are going to win the championship game of your conference tournament. Believe that you are going to ace all of your finals.

Believe in something, because without having faith and believing in something, you have nothing to hold on to.

Positivity.

Be positive. Who likes a half glass empty anyways? “Can I have a glass half empty of a good ole’ southern ice tea on this hot sunny day?” Ummm no?! Give me that large full cup!

But seriously…

Be positive. Have a good outlook on life. Negativity just makes even the sunniest days seem gloomy.

L-O-V-EEEE. Love.

Love someone. Love something. But first love yourself. Love puppies. Love the rainbows in the sky after a poopy, rainy day. Love the three scoops of raspberry chocolate ice cream and love the chocolate chunks even more!

Love.

Spread it.

Set Goals.

Set goals for yourself, big and small.

I’m going to be an engineer someday. I’m going to beat my mile time. I’m going to get all A’s this semester. I’m going to be President someday. I’m going to get married, have four little mini me's running around the house, and have a beautiful cozy home with a big front and back yard. I’m going to play college soccer. I’m going to give up desserts for lent. I’m going to travel the world and visit every continent. I’m going to study abroad in college.

The sky is the limit.

Just kidding. The limit doesn’t exist.

Set goals. Achieve them with flying colors. It’s one of the greatest feelings in the world.

Protect your inner sanctuary.

Protect your heart. Don’t let the negative things, people, experiences, and drama affect and hurt you. It’s/they aren’t worth it.

You got a C on your last chemistry test… Who cares? Ace the next one.

You got a bad haircut. It’ll grow back.

You were playing on a scooter and fell off and broke your wrist. Hey, you don’t have to write and do your homework for the next month or so.

You got four concussions in one soccer season. It’s fine. Make your mom and dad bring you food in bed and be a couch potato for the next couple of weeks. Oh and just protect your head next time.

You didn’t get the job you applied for. It’s ok, apply for another.

You will have good days and bad days. But hey, just take in the good and brush off the bad.

Protect your inner sanctuary.

ALWAYS have something to look forward to.

Always have something to look forward to. Summer break. Your first day of college. Your first day of work. Friday. Your wedding day. Your basketball game. Friday night football. Lunch. The pumpkin pie served on Thanksgiving Day. Christmas. Late night Taco Bell runs. Bid Day. Practice after a long day of classes. Your trip to Spain.

Imagine that boring, rainy Tuesday. Having absolutely nothing to do that day, nothing to look forward to.

B O R I N G.

Always have something to look forward to!

There you've got it folks! Six keys to happiness! Believe. Be positive. Spread the love. Set goals. Brush off the bad. Plan and have something to look forward to.

Now go get your happy on!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
