12 Fall Fashion Trends For College Girls Who Shop At TJ Maxx, Not Gucci

It can be hard to stay in the loop of fashion if you don't have the funds to support a mad shopping addiction. But lucky for you, there's always a way to stay cute while also staying cheap. If you haven't paid attention to what's been going on in the fashion world, that's okay. I'm about to fill you in. Here are 12 fabulous fall fashion trends you'll want to be a part of.

1. Statement sleeves.

In this case, is bigger always better? Maybe. This is a trend that would hardly be difficult to do on a budget. Forever 21 has a bunch of great options when it comes to fluffy, loose sleeves and it won't completely blow your wallet. Obviously, you can always find shirts with funky sleeves at just about any boutique, nowadays, if Forever 21 isn't your thing (or if the Forever 21 in your town recently closed down).

2. Faux fur.

If you haven't heard, coats made out of real animals are so three-years ago. Just don't do it. Celebs are bringing faux-fur into the spotlight, and you gotta jump on board. H&M has some fancy faux-fur jackets that definitely aren't crazy expensive. You can also go even cheaper than that, with Forever 21 and Amazon both carrying multiple options online.

3. Collared shirts.

The models walked out and displayed this using Chanel shirts, but not all of us have that luxury. A great place to find a much cheaper version of these high-end brands is Urban Outfitters. They have always been one step ahead of the current trends, and they have a vast selection of creative collared shirts. Then again, Target also has some surprisingly good options.

4. Feathers.

Don't be scared to try out this new, slightly daunting style. Celebs are strutting out in full-blown feathered dresses, I would suggest taking it down a notch. To keep things a little less pricey, I would suggest adding an element of feathers to your outfit with simple accessories. Maybe feather earrings, feather shoes, or a feather purse. A little goes a long way.

5. Leather.

This material can, unfortunately, get pretty expensive, so it might be in your best interest to get fake leather. Leather skirts are all over the place, but I think Forever 21 has the best selection for the best price. There are so many ways to style these skirts, and getting one would be a great addition to your closet.

6. Animal print.

Remember when cheetah print was all the rage back in like 2001? Well, apparently it's arisen from the grave, bringing snakeskin with it. Animal prints are on fire, and you need to join the club. It's fairly cheap to find a cheetah print shirt at your regular run-of-the-mill department stores, such as JcPenney's or Macy's. I've even found printed clothing at Target and Walmart, so I don't think the price will be too much of an issue for this trend.

7. Lace-up boots.

We already all had a love for boots, but now we've realized how cute lace-up booties are. Fall has just arrived, so that means you need a brand new pair. You can find surprisingly stylish yet cheap shoes at stores such as Charlotte Russe, H&M, F21, and once again, even Target. Target honestly can never fail me at this point.

8. Denim jackets.

These have been around for quite a bit, and tend to run a little on the expensive side. Update:They're still trending so you better add some new ones to your closet! I was able to find some really cute denim jackets on websites such as PrettyLittleThing, Fashionnova, and Shein. They were super low in price and honestly made me want to buy them in multiple colors, because... why not?

9. Silk scarves.

These are highly versatile, so it's in your best interest to find one you like. I was able to find some satin scarves on Amazon for less than three bucks, so I don't think it'll be too challenging! As the colder weather sweeps in, you'll need something new to wrap your neck up in.

10. Scrunchies.

No, the VSCO girls didn't create this trend. Scrunchies really do add a whole new dimension to your hair look, and you can mix-and-match the colors you think look cute. I've found some adorable scrunchies at small boutiques such as Francesca's, and it won't cost you much at all.

12. Chunky necklaces.

These have come and gone for the past few years, and I'm glad to say they're back! Head to your nearest Charming Charlies or F21 and pick out the boldest one you can find. Usually, at the stores mentioned chunky necklaces can be really cheap, so you'll end up buying more than you really need.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
