OKAY, I'll say it: you were right, Mom. I used to hate it when she told me to "Enjoy it while you're young, it won't be this easy forever." (Usually after I'd been complaining about homework, or really even the ACTION of going to school). Oh man, what I'd give to be able to call in sick to work four days in a row with little to no paying for it in the long run...not that I did that in school or anything... But seriously, calling in sick gives me so much anxiety, I feel worse than I did before.
Here are a few things I struggle with, and what helps keep my feet on the ground:
Exercise
I don't really want to do it, you don't really want to do it, but we really should. Let's face it: a lot of us probably aren't eating or sleeping like we should. A healthy diet and at least a little exercise are vital for keeping the balance in our bodies. I'm a fan of yoga, myself.
Habits
Growing up is a whirlwind of new adventures, and we may discover a few not so good habits along the way. First and foremost, this does not make us terrible people, it just means we're learning new things about ourselves. The good thing is habits can be changed. It can be as simple as finding a good habit to replace the bad one.
Self-confidence
We're all fighting our own battles. It's easy to get caught up in life, and lose track of ourselves. Life is hectic! Stress is bound to happen. Finding different hobbies to keep my mind off of things keeps the stress to a minimum.
Cooking
Yeah, no. HELLO, take out!
I could go on forever. There is so much to this "adulting" thing, I don't think we'll ever get it right. But who's to say what's right?
