Another year has gone by in our lives. There were so many events in the world that happened, some that went viral, some that were absolutely devastating, and some that were just plain awesome. Here are some events that highlight the year of 2015:
January:
Stuart Scott: The idol of sports-entertainment sportscaster passes away after fighting cancer throughout his career.
February:
The Dress: A total worldwide speculation on whether the dress was white and gold or black and blue. All in seriousness, the dress is white and gold. Right?
Superbowl XLIX: Seattle Seahawks near came away with the victory on this one, but the last play may have been the worst call in Superbowl history. Marshawn Lynch should've ran the ball. But kudos for Malcolm Butler for the game-ending interception as the Patriots seized the victory on the final postseason game of the year.
The Oscars: Another year of Oscars in the bag, another year of Leonardo DiCaprio of not taking home one. It's okay Leonardo, let's hope that changes next year.
Farewell to Spock: Probably the most heart-breaking loss for Star Trek fans, Leonardo Nimoy passes away at the age of 83. Live long and prosper.
March:
Email Trial: Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign took a slight turn when classified information was revealed by the State Department through her own personal email. As of now, we still don't know whether it is true that Clinton did send classified information. All that we know is that the American people are sick and tired of hearing about [her] damn emails. See? Clinton agrees.
April:
Nepal Earthquake: A magnitude earthquake struck Nepal, destroying most of the buildings, including houses and hospitals, in the area, injuring and killing thousands of civilians, and causing landslides and minor avalanches within the area. Over thirty thousand people were either deceased or injured within the area, marking as one of the deadliest earthquakes to date.
May:
FIFA under scrutiny: After a long speculation, the officials of the Federation Internationale de Football Association, including the president Sepp Blatter, were indicted due corrupt allegations.
June:
Donald Trump: The real estate rajah and TV reality star finally decides that he will run for president. This marks the beginning for a whole wide world of Trump ethics and speculations towards everything.
July:
FIFA Women's World Cup: It is a swan song for Abby Wambach as the United States Women's National Team beats in a revenge world cup final against the former champions, Japan, 5-2 FT.
Hotline Bling: Drake releases hit top song of the year with a really unique music video. However, his dance took away the spotlight from his song.
August:
Cecil the Lion:
Regarded as one of the icons and the protector of the pride within south Africa, Cecil the Lion was shot by a dentist by the name of Walter Palmer. Soon after the death, Walter Palmer was regarded as one of the most hated men on the planet, at least for a while he was, before returning to his practice in October.
September:
Queen Elizabeth II: Queen Elizabeth II of England becomes the longest reining monarch of England's history. Reining from June 2, 1953, Queen Elizabeth surpasses Queen Victoria's reign of 63 years, 2 months, and 2 days.
October:
Life on Mars?: Water was found on Mars, giving scientists theory if live did or could exist on Mars. Maybe we can ask Matt Damon about that?
November:
Paris: One of the most beloved cities of the world gets attacked by terrorists, as of now known by ISIS by international governments. 4 different attacks at 4 different locations and 4 different times were completely unexpected. Terrorists open fired, causing numerous deaths and injuries to the civilians of Paris, France.
December:
Maxima Zuckerburg: The Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, and his wife Priscilla welcome a new face to the Zuckerberg family. Maxima "Max" Zuckerburg was born on December 1st. Celebrities and new reporters flock to the scene to welcome the hopeful heir of Facebook industries.
Star Wars: The wait is over. It's FINALLY here. This is what every Star Wars fanatics were looking for. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is one of the biggest blockbuster releases of the year, hoping to revive the epic series every 1990s kids went through.
