15 Things to Do Instead of Voting for Trump

Move to Canada, maybe.

15 Things to Do Instead of Voting for Trump

1. Take a Walk

Maybe to Canada if he wins.

2. Educate the World About Rape Culture

And its existence. Donald Trump is a huge perpetuator of rape culture, as (further) proven by the recent release of a tape where he says, "And when you're a star they'll let you do it....you can do anything. Grab her by the p----."

3. Create Something

Art, music, anything....as long as it's not a vote for Donald Trump on November 8th.

4. Pet a Dog

Or a cat. Or a bird. Or a hamster.

5. Spend Time with Family

Go give your mom a hug. She'll be surprised, maybe suspicious, but she'll love it.

6. Advocate for Equal Pay

When asked if he believed in equal pay for men and women, Trump responded, "You’re [women] gonna make the same if you do as good a job [as a man]."

7. Exercise

You can get your first hour of class free at OrangeTheory Fitness, a popular new gym. Click here to sign up.

8. Volunteer

Preferably not with the Trump campaign. For a list of volunteer opportunities near you, click here.

9. Make a New Friend

New co-worker at work? Ask them out for lunch or drinks. Educate them about while Trump is a terrible person who is unfit to run this country while you're at it.

10. Build Women Up

Trump has repeatedly called women, "slobs, pigs, and dogs." What happens if Trump is elected, and young girls grow up hearing that they are "pigs" from their president? What will this do to the development of their self-worth? Let's build the women in our lives up instead of tearing them down, like Donald Trump does so often.

11. Write Someone a Letter

Snail mail is slowly becoming a rarity these days, so write someone a heartfelt letter and make their day.

12. Learn Something New

Join a cooking class, take one of those painting classes where you really just drink wine and laugh for an hour, or learn how to crotchet. Or you could learn about the immigration policies of different countries if Trump wins.

13. Be a Tourist

You can do this in your own hometown. Sometimes the museums or galleries marketed toward tourists are actually pretty cool.

14. Stand With Sexual Assault Survivors

After the release of the tape where Trump boasted of groping women, author Kelly Oxford took to Twitter and asked women to tweet her their experiences of sexual assault. She received a million responses, with the hashtag #NotOkay. Trump defended his lewd comments by saying the conversation was typical "locker room banter." I'm pretty sure anyone who brags about assaulting women, whether it's in a locker room or elsewhere, shouldn't be the leader of the country. That person belongs in jail.

15. LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE

Take a six hour nap, go for a bike ride, plan a spontaneous visit to see a friend.....there are countless things to do instead of voting for, or supporting Donald Trump. The editor's note at the end of each Huffington Post article regarding Trump says it best..."Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
