Boston is known as a cultural hub--a melting pot. Plus, there’s lots of United States patriotic history in this region. There are tons of tourists attractions and amazing local sites. Here are the 10 best!:
1. The Lawn on D Street
Welcome to the ultimate adult playground! The Lawn on D is a park located in South Boston, boasting neon swing sets and serving as a venue for a number of events such as art shows, dances, and Boston’s unique jam sessions. On Sundays, you’ll find the community gathered here for sporting events.
2. Blackstone Community Center
Celebrate Latin culture with MetaMovements Latin Dance Company. Blackstone Community Center is known to host their “Salsa in the Park” every Monday: here, you can learn to salsa and bachata, or groove to awesome music while meeting new people or enjoying time with friends. “Dancing With The Stars” performers have loved it here.
3. Chinatown
Enjoy beautiful shops, decor, walkways, and authentic Chinese cuisine. Chinatown hosts many celebrations like the “Chinese New Year” and the “Moon Festival.”
4. Prudential Building
This is Boston’s tallest shopping and commercial complex. If you’re ever in the mood for expensive fine dining, pay a visit to “Top of the Hub.” You can also see all of Boston in one circle (for just $15) while enjoying the evening sunset and learning about Boston’s history.
5. Sports Centers: TD Garden and Fenway Park
Boston is known for its competitive sports. Through the abundance of sport arenas, you’re bound to find one that’ll spark your interest from watching the Boston Celtics and Bruins at The Garden to seeing the Red Sox take on their rivals, The NY Yankees, at Fenway Park.
6. Boston’s Seaport District
If you’re a seafood lover then the seaport area is the perfect place for you. Enjoy a delicious seafood dinner next to the water. This is also a beautiful place to take prom and wedding pictures! The Seaport World Trade Center holds large amounts of historical information related to Boston.
7. North End’s Mike’s Pastry
Mike’s Pastries in the North End’s Little Italy neighborhood is famous for delicious cannolis and lobster tails. In fact, since there are so many options to choose from, it’s likely you’ll have more than one favorite!
8. Pinocchio's Pizza in Harvard Square
For all of the pizza lovers out there, there is no doubt you need to try Pinocchio’s spinach pizza in Harvard Square. Pizza dough, cheese topped with spinach, so much simplicity yet so much goodness!
9. Institution of Contemporary Art (ICA)
The ICA is one of the most interesting art exhibits in Boston and holds an architectural aesthetic of its own. The ICA is a great place to view unique modern creations by artists and is educational. Different exhibits change frequently. The best part about the artwork displayed in the ICA is that you’ll catch yourself saying “I never knew this was considered art!”
10. Boston Harbor’s George’s Island
George’s Island is a great place for scavenger hunts and telling scary stories. The only way to get to the island is by ferry. Enjoy the view and be sure to bring some quick snacks or fast food as you pass by the other islands.
