Sometimes life can get pretty busy and we get caught up in the rush of things. This tends to physically and emotionally drain us. When you feel like you are losing your smile and positive vibes, complete these simple, daily tasks to revive your energy and spirit.

1.Wake Up Early

I know, this sounds awful for a college student, but there are many benefits to waking up early. It allows time to plan for the upcoming day and to reflect on what you want to accomplish. It also cuts out the waking up late and rushing stress.

2.Express Gratitude

There are a lot of things to be grateful for in life. Family, friends, food, etc. Take a few minutes out of your day and create a list of 5 things you are grateful for. At the end of the day look back at this list to remind you of everything in your life that you might take for granted.

3.Learn to Forgive

Harboring feelings of hatred is horrible for your well-being. Instead of holding onto the grudges that are bringing you down, let it go and move on.

4.Practice Spirituality

When we practice spirituality, we recognize that life is bigger than just us and surrender the idea that we are center of the universe.

5.Meditate Regularly

Take a little time out of your busy day to sit and not think about anything. Forget all of your assignments, classes, drama and spend 10 minutes just focusing on your breathing pattern. Completely clearing your mind will allow you to forget about the little things and focus on yourself for a bit.

6.Go Outside

Spending time in nature has been shown to reduce stress levels. The fresh air and intake of vitamin D match perfectly to help you lower your stress and enjoy the simplicity of life.

7.Turn Your Mistakes Into Lessons

We all make mistakes every day. Whether they are small or life changing. It’s up to you, however, if you want to let your mistakes destroy you or to use them as times to learn. Once you stop beating yourself up over your mistakes, you will begin to see new possibilities in them.

8.Don’t Compare Yourself

The root of self-loathing comes from comparison. It’s time to stop asking yourself why you don’t look like them and what do they have that you don’t. Every person is different with various strengths and weaknesses. Find out who you are as an individual and build on that.

9.Take Care of Others

It is sometimes hard to care for self, yet alone, caring for others as well, but try to help out as many people as you can. Even if it is just holding a door, helping clean a spill or complimenting another person. Your spirit will rise each time you put another person before yourself. You don’t need to end world hunger or anything, you just need to focus on making others happy and you too, will become happy.

10.Smile Often

It is not always easy to smile and sometimes you might want to just curl up in a ball and cry, but if you can try to smile through you struggle your world will be brighter. There are many benefits to smiling more, but most importantly, smiling releases endorphins which lowers stress and anxiety. Smiling is an easy way to boost your mood, so whenever you are in a stressful situation or are feeling down, pick up your chin and grin.

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
