You know that feeling of happiness and joy that comes from doing something that you love and are extremely passionate about? It could be anything from playing a sport or instrument, to singing or dancing or maybe even being part of a club. People are passionate about numerous things and as humans, it is our job to find those passions and use them to help us grow into the greatest versions of ourselves. However, in a society that makes it very hard to do what we love sometimes, people often fall short of becoming the greatest version of themselves because they live in fear of what others may think.
If you think about it, the greatest inventions, movements or even wins have come from times when people are doing what they love. So why do we keep putting people down for doing what they love, when it could only better society if we supported it?
Finding what you love is hard but actually going through with it is even harder. Especially with all of the obstacles that can get in your way. When you actually do something you enjoy and put aside all of the negativity that surrounds you, nothing is impossible.
One of the most important things in life is to do what you love, because who would you be if you were doing something you weren't born to do? You would be somebody else. Whether you are like me and are trying to figure out what you want to do in college, or you are in high school trying to find yourself or maybe you are out of college and trying to find your dream job, remember that doing what you love is the greatest reward out there.
So, I now challenge you. If you want to experiment with cooking, do it. If science is your passion, immerse yourself in it. If you want to try gymnastics for the first time, go for it. If you want to travel the world while writing, do it! But if you are about to put someone down for doing what they love, stop. Because who knows? One day those people could be opening five-star restaurants, curing diseases, winning Olympic Gold Medals or becoming a world-renowned author with incredible books. You never know what people are capable of when they are doing what they love. So, I also challenge you to never put down the hidden greatness in someone.
