Growing up with brothers is tough enough, but growing up as the only girl in the family (besides your mom) makes it even more difficult. Nobody can relate to your problems as much as a sister could.
You had to be tough.
If you weren't, you were a goner. Your brothers would beat on you relentlessly-over the spot on the couch, over the TV remote, over the last piece of food, over the stupidest things. And if you were ever caught in the middle of them fighting with each other, you needed all the luck you could get to get out of that mess.
You were spoiled by your parents.
And you probably took it for granted. You never really realized this, but you got so many more things out of your parents than your brothers did. Whether you need gas money from dad or new clothes from mom, they always feel the need to make you happy because you're their little girl.
Your mom is your best friend.
As much as you wanted a sister to understand what it's like to be the only girl sibling, your mom is the closest thing you have. She'll take you out on mommy-daughter dates and shop with you, because who else would do these girly things with her? When you're away for college she'll complain about being the only girl in the house and you'll complain along with her-because talking about how annoying your dad and brothers are is a great way to bond.
Sports are a big part of your life.
Whether you just support your brothers at their games or join in alongside of them, sports are something you've known for the majority of your life. Growing up with brothers means that you were their guinea pig to practice their skills on. You pitched to them in the backyard, was their wrestling dummy and stood in the yard for hours just throwing a football around.
