So this is it. After getting pushed to the brink of elimination by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, the Golden State Warriors have managed to take things all the way to Game 7. It’s an exciting and stressful time to be a Warriors fan right now, and in all the excitement, it can be easy to lose your nerve. Fortunately, I’ve prepared a helpful little guide to Game 7. Follow these instructions, and you’ll be able to maximize your enjoyment of the night.

Step 1: Establish a means of watching the game.

Obviously, the optimum experience would be at Oracle Arena watching this in person, but let’s be real, the tickets are probably already long gone. So that leaves three main options: TV, radio, and--thanks to the wonders of social media--Twitter. Which one is the best for you depends on your needs. If you want to watch things with your own eyes, or if you want this to be a social experience, then TV is your best bet. If you’ll be driving while the game is going on, then you’ll probably want to go with the radio. And if you don’t have either of those things, or if you feel compelled to discuss the game and have no one to converse with, then following the game on Twitter is a viable option. Of course, Twitter is probably best paired with one of the other two options so you don’t have to hunt for updates when the people you follow aren’t tweeting, but as a solo means of experiencing the game, it can hold its own.

Step 2: Suit up in your best Warriors gear.

It doesn’t matter what it is. Hats, T-shirts, jerseys, you name it, if it’s Warriors apparel, rock it that day. Of course, it doesn’t have to have the Warriors logo on it to be a good choice--as long as you wear as much blue and yellow as possible, you can wear it. If you’re watching this from home and no one’s going to be watching, then this advice might seem odd, but trust me, it’ll help you get in the mood for the game. Never doubt the power of wearing your Warriors fandom literally on your sleeve.

Step 3: Get your refreshments together.

Let’s face it, you’re going to need something to get you through this game. Whether you’re going to eat, drink, or get drunk, make sure you have all that together before the start of the game. Trust me, you won’t want to walk away from the action once things get going. I won’t prescribe specific things to consume, since you know your habits better than I do. If you want to eat over 9,000 chicken wings or take one small sip of expensive 300-year-old wine when it’s 3:21 in the 4th quarter, that’s your prerogative. You do you, as long as it helps you through.

Step 4: Psyche yourself up.

Whatever pre-game rituals you have, whatever gets you in the right mindset for some Warriors basketball, take care of it. Personally, I like to pray to BasedGod and listen to energetic, in-your-face music--lately, “Ante Up” by M.O.P. has been doing the trick for me--to steady my nerves. But if you do something else, as long as it’s not actively harming people, then by all means, do that. Just make sure that when it’s time for the opening jump ball, you’re ready to go.

Step 5: Take in as much of the game as you possibly can.

This is going to be one of the most intense basketball games in recent memory, and with the level of talent on the court, the possibility for highlight reel material is endless. If you’re a devoted Dubs fan, you probably do this anyway, but it’s key to catch as much of the action as possible. All signs point to this being a game for the ages. Even if nothing much happens while you’re gone, you might miss a subtle momentum shift that carries over for the rest of the quarter, or even the entire game. Even if the game seems like it’s already over, stay paying attention. After all, the Warriors didn’t lead the score for the overwhelming majority of Game 6, but when they finally did, it was all they needed. Until the game is officially over, it’s not over. That said, if you have to get up, then do so. Nobody needs to soil their couch because they were glued to the action.

Step 6: Don’t let That Guy ruin your night.

Sometimes, a sporting event will bring out the That Guy in all of us. Whether it’s That Guy who never shuts up about how his strategies would work so much better, That Guy who had too much to drink, That Guy who gets into Twitter fights, or any other That Guy, if That Guy is not brought under control, That Guy has the possibility to kill the whole vibe and make sitting through the game a chore. If someone else is being That Guy, make sure to calm them down and get them out of That Guy mode, if possible. It also never hurts to stop and re-examine what you’re doing to make sure you aren’t That Guy. As the wise man E-40 once said, “Everybody’s got choices.” Will you choose to make the game a positive experience for the people around you, or will you choose to be That Guy? (Hint: the correct answers are “Yup!” and “Nope!”, respectively.)

Step 7: As soon as the game ends, play the song “Fuck KD” by Lil B as loud as you possibly can.

This may sound like a joke, but make no mistake. This work of musical genius by the Warriors’ lord and savior, Lil B, will suit the mood no matter what the outcome of the game is. See, if the Warriors win, you can blast this and sing along in triumph, knowing that the BasedGod’s curse on Kevin Durant has worked its magic once again. But in the event that--BasedGod forbid--the Warriors lose, you can still sing along, because that’s probably exactly how you’ll feel about Kev Durant.

Side note: for those of you who are unfamiliar, the curse says that Kevin Durant will never win a championship ring until Kevin Durant plays Lil B in a one-on-one game of basketball. Seeing as he has had five years to do this and still has not made any effort to accomplish it, it is unlikely that KD will be able to surmount LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers should the Thunder reach the Finals. Take solace in that fact.

Step 8-1: In the event of a win, celebrate!

When your team goes to the NBA Finals, it’s always an occasion to celebrate. After all, you don’t know if it’ll be another 40 years until the next one. So by all means, put on “Tell Me When to Go” and get hyphy like it’s 2006 all over again. It'll be our party, and we will have earned it. Just don't get too cocky, because we'll still have to win those Finals. We don't want to be the ones who got overconfident and then got crushed by LeBron James. So keep the social media savagery to a reasonable level, and try not to tear your living room to shreds in a fit of drunken revelry.

Step 8-2: In the event of a loss, put as much distance between you and sports-related content on the Internet as possible.

You don’t want to see Crying Jordans photoshopped onto every single Warriors fan, coach, and player. You don’t want to see these fake Thunder fans talking trash and acting like your Warriors never had any merit in the first place. (And for those of you wondering, real Thunder fans are just as loyal to their team as real Warriors fans are to theirs.) You don’t want to be that guy whining about the refs and getting into Internet catfights and generally making the rest of Dub Nation look bad. If we lose this, do yourself a favor and stay away from social media until the Finals start. You’ll already feel bad. Don’t make it worse for yourself.

Step 9: No matter what happens, appreciate this moment.

Let’s be real, people. Since 1975, the Warriors have spent most of their time sucking. We had our flashes of glory--the days of Run-TMC and the “We Believe” run among them--but for the most part, we weren’t running with the top dogs by any stretch of the imagination. We were either terrible or about to make a boneheaded front office move that sent us back to terrible. Hell, four seasons ago, we were the third-worst team in the West. The fans got so fed up after 35 years of bad decisions that they nearly booed the owner out of Oracle Arena. But the next year, the Splash Brothers came together and took the team to the playoffs. The next year, we won over 50 games. The next year, we won the NBA FInals for the first time in 40 years. And this year, we’ve broken record after record. We went 73-9, Chef Curry cooked up 402 threes, Klay Thompson set a new record for most 3-pointers in a single playoff game in Game 6 of this series...the list goes on. No matter what happens, this team will set the bar for excellence that all Warriors teams afterwards will try to reach. This game might be the last time we see that team take the court.

So take this moment in. Embrace it. Go nuts when we Steph and Klay make splashes for 3. Cheer when Bogut makes the rebound or Draymond slams home a dunk worthy of the Sprite Cam. Get excited when Mo Speights comes off the bench and goes off for ten points out of nowhere. Celebrate every point and cherish every second of basketball you see. We’ve been blessed with quite possibly the greatest basketball team in NBA history. We’ll be telling our kids and grandkids that we were part of Dub Nation and we got the chance to see these fifteen guys play. The only question is whether we make the most of it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
