To My Beloved Tribe,
Thank you for bringing me one of the best seasons of baseball I've ever seen. (And I'm not just saying that because I'm biased towards The Indians.) The excitement this team brought to me every single time I watched a game, whether it was in person or on TV was UNREAL! A season where our key players were injured and the team still managed a 14 game winning streak, 11 game-winning walk-off hits, and snagging up Andrew Miller towards the end of the regular season were unbelievable moves by The Cleveland Indians that made this season so special.
Thank you for bringing me closer to my friends and family. Sometimes being an adult sucks when you have two jobs and still try to keep your head above water with all of the "adulting" you have to do... But with The Cleveland Indians, I had to MAKE the time to watch the games with people I love and care about. Overall it would just bring more joy to my life catching up with either my friends or my mom during the game, commercial breaks, etc.
Thank you for all of the laughter from the season. When the camera's for the game would go to Carlos Carrasco combing through Jose Ramirez's hair during game commentary was probably one of my favorite moments when the game wasn't in play! I mean how hysterical is that? And all the GIF's they made from those little moments?! You can tell the bond on that team between the coaching staff and the players is a bond that could never be broken.
Thank you for giving fans like me the opportunity to meet and interact with the players. When "Party At Napoli's" became a super popular thing, my friend saw that the Indians were having a charity event at the Corner Bar after a home game in August, where the bartenders were the players from The Cleveland Indians. My friend and I were dying because we have been die hard fans ever since we've known each other and this was our chance to get up close and personal with them. When the time came for the Party , it was all set up just perfectly. Mike Napoli was on one side and on the other was my personal favorite... JASON FREAKING KIPNIS. We didn't know where to start or what to do. I mean like these guys were A-list celebrities to us. Overall we got pictures with Napoli, Kipnis, Lindor, Santana, Coco Crisp, and Naquin. We also saw Cookie Carrasco and the best relieving pitcher in the game, Andrew FREAKING Miller. All I have to say is, these boys don't know how to pour a proper draft beer but it was so cute watching them try!! All and all, it was worth every penny we spent to be there because not only was the experience amazing but all of the proceeds went to Cleveland Clinic Children's hospital. Ugh, how amazing.
Thank you for giving me the hope that we WILL seal the deal in 2017. After all of the wonderful thing's we have accomplished this year, I have no doubt in my mind that we can get the job done. We will finally have a healthy ball club, and with the team chemistry we already have, then I don't see anything that will get in our way. We defeated all of the crappy odds we had against us this year. Like, we weren't even supposed to beat The Boston Red Sox (according to everyone in the world pretty much) but then we made it to Game SEVEN of the World Series.
I am so grateful for the opportunity that the Indians played against The Chicago Cubs because at least someone's drought ended. You have to play the best to be the best. And in my heart, The Indians are the best but someone had to win game seven... Obviously, next year we will prove it to everyone that we ARE the best and we WILL win the World Series. (And then maybe people will stop voting against us in the odds during the playoffs.... *Wishful Thinking*.)
Thank you for everything Cleveland Indians, see you Opening Day 2017!!!
Sincerely,
Born and Raised Cleveland Indians Fan.
P.S. It's been so nice not hearing Joe Buck talk about Kyle Schwarber every three minutes.... (THANK GOD)
