With college football season about to kick-off (thank Bear Bryant), there are some definite must-haves on any football fan's list for tailgating. You better get them before this Saturday!
1) Cold Drink of Choice
Whether it's a cold beer, soda, or bottle of water, you'd better have plenty on hand if you plan on screaming for your team through the entire game.
2) Cooler/Ice
Packing a cooler for a game is a delicate art. Drinks in the bottom, then ice, then food that needs to be kept cold. Make sure you get that ice all the way down there between the drinks.
3) Game-Day Outfit
I had to stock up on cute tailgating dresses now that my sorority is doing tailgates, but before now, anyone who wore a dress to a football game was stupid. How are you supposed to jump up when there's a touchdown or lean forward with your elbows on your knees when you're keeping your ankles crossed? I'm still not 100% sold on this one, so whichever you choose, have it ready. Some people even opt for sports bras and body paint...
4) Good Breakfast
Preferably with lots of carbs in order to stay energized the entire day to cheer on your team. Ideally it is a Bojangle's biscuit and some sweet tea with large Bo-Rounds.
5) Football Playlist
Is it really a football game if Kenny Chesney's "Boys of Fall" doesn't play at some point on the way there, during tailgating, or on the way home? Create the perfect playlist to get you hyped up for the game.
6) Speakers
You thought your tiny phone speaker would do your playlist justice while tailgating? Well, bless your heart.
7) Activities
Figure out what your game is. Two-Hand Touch, Frisbee, Cornhole, whatever. You have to have something to do before the game starts in between pieces of chicken. Bonus points if your cornhole boards are decorated in your favorite team.
8) FOOD
No tailgate is complete without good tailgating food. The more articles that are fried, the better. Not to mention chips and seven different types of dip/salsa/queso.
