It’s that time of year again where you fight with people about when it’s the proper time to start celebrating Christmas. Some start the day after Halloween and others wait until after Thanksgiving. What’s the difference? The celebration is still leading up to the two best holiday’s in the world….Thanksgiving AND Christmas!
So let’s talk about all of the amazing things about Thanksgiving and why we should never take the holiday for granted.
The Food:
Turkey. Ham. Mashed Potatoes. Gravy. Stuffing. Cranberry Sauce. BREAD. Corn. Broccoli. Carrots. PIE.
The Company:
Thanksgiving is so important because it’s a time where you get together as family and friends to give thanks for all you have been given. It is the only holiday where we join together to recount all of life’s blessings and enjoy time spent together. There’s nothing like Thanksgiving dinner.
Football brings families together, and it’s usually on in the background of the Thanksgiving party. Who doesn’t like a good old football game while eating appetizers and ignoring awkward small talk? Plus, it’s always fun when you get to cheer together when your team scores a touchdown.
The Excitement For Christmas:
Okay, so now there are no excuses for Christmas celebrations. Once Thanksgiving is over, it’s fair game to start listening to Christmas music and begin decorating the house.
The Traditions:
Traditions are extremely important in my family and we make sure to keep them alive each year. One of my favorites is going around the table and saying one thing we are thankful for. It brings us closer together as a family and is something for us to look forward to every Thanksgiving!
But of course...
The After Dinner Nap:
This is my favorite part of Thanksgiving. After I spend hours eating, I finally get to lay down and fall asleep. There is nothing like the “After Thanksgiving dinner nap.”
