Dear Jordan Spieth,
I just would like to start off by saying you are what golf truly means. Then the biggest collapse happened in Masters history with you leading five strokes in the final round. I know it must have been tough to lose to Danny Willett, but he's 28 years old and has a few more years under his belt, but I know you will be there one day.
You started off really strong and leading almost the entire time until the end. So it just shows that you are meant for this game and clearly have a love for it. You are 22 years old and in the Masters while I'm over here being 21 years old just getting a double major in sports journalism and communication studies. On top of that, you won last year as well as tied the record with Tiger Woods for the 72-hole record. Now that is pretty amazing and shows that you can be a legend.
I actually have faith that one day you will be one of the greats, and a lot of young kids look up to your drive. You have to be the best and that is an inspiration. It's amazing to see someone around my age doing big things like that. It has been inspirational too because I know I can reach my goals at a young age, too.
Also have you seen what people have been tweeting? Especially reporters? It has been very positive, you composed yourself so well even after losing. I believe that's one of the toughest things, especially when you are so close to winning. When asked about the Masters in general you didn't pout, cry, or be hostile towards reporters, but instead you were what every athlete should strive to be. So thank you from a future sports reporter for not giving us a hard time. Much respect, and maybe you can teach Cam Newton a lesson because I know he has the potential to be like you after a hard loss. So next year go get them, and also let's get married, okay?
