Commonalities between Human creatures include:
- The necessity for Food, water, and shelter to survive.
- Experiencing pain, heartbreak, love, laughter, joy, jealousy, happiness, sadness, anger, and envy.
- A love for animals.
- Needing to use the bathroom.
- Having a family whether or not they are blood-related.
- Experiencing sexual Arousal or desire.
- Having two arms and two legs.
- Having a heart.
- Being able to communicate with our own and other species.
- The ability to feel.
This is just a small list of many important commonalities between human creatures, but yet as a society we tend to overlook many of what we have in common to look at the differences instead:
- Race
- Gender
- Weight
- Whom we chose or chose not to love
- Religion
- Political Party
- Income
- Class
- Interests
- What we eat
While looking at the difference we choose to ignore how we are all ONE, because we all coexist on this planet together.
For example: Our food comes from the ground. Plants and animals are on this planet. Our food is sourced from the earth around us, and as humans. we take, use, and eat what is given to us from the Earth. This is such a simple example of how we as humans share similarities, and it starts right at the dinner table.
I’m not saying that we don’t have disparities because we definitely do, but instead of hating the disparities we should instead love how humans are different and so a like.
My brother plays the violin, and when I tried to play the violin in elementary school, I hated it. We have two different interests but I still love him, and he means the absolute world to me. That wouldn’t change if he decided to tell me that he was gay, or if he wants to start hunting deer.
I may not like the fact he wants to use a gun to kill an innocent animal, but that doesn’t mean he’s a bad person or that it makes him less of a person. He’s human, and he sees the world in a different way than I for the differences many people judge on.
After the terrorist attack in Orlando and the almost terrorist attack in Los Angeles, I found myself devastated along with thousands of other people across America.
All humans love, and love trumps hate. Yet, in this attack it was the other way around and that is not fair nor is it just. It’s in this moment where humans need to start coming together to save our own kind. We have to stop letting the fact that other people don’t see the world the way we want them to affect us.
Instead we should be focusing on the problems happening on our Earth, for example: Climate change, wars, hungry, communism in North Korea, terrorist attacks in our own country, and sickness.
See, life is too short to look for hate in others. Life is too short for there to be war and famine, and to watch other people die because they are choosing to love another person. So what if it’s two dudes making out. It’s their decision, and they’re happy.
Happiness is something every human hopes to encounter in their life. So by killing another person’s happiness, you are slowly killing yours as well.
We are all one. We coexist together on the plant. We may not hold hands or be friends with everyone, but we should at least try to start accepting that we DO live with one another.
I’m not perfect. I complain about my boss, and my friends. I do say I hate Trump, but that’s because I have no other way of expressing my anger towards a person who wants to cut funding for the EPA and education, and hates women. He is a genius when it comes to business and I respect him for that, but as president, I don’t find him right for the job. So yes, If I were in a room with him I would be sick to my stomach, but there is no way I could wish death upon him.
Because yes, he has a family, he has kids, and he eats dinner. He goes to the bathroom too. He deals with issues just as every other human does. Just because his ideas and ideals aren’t the same as mine or many MANY, doesn’t make him less of a human.
Not even the person who murdered those 50 people is less of a human. The people with hate in their hearts are the people who need love and compassion the most, because they are the ones who need help. They are the one who don’t understand what it means to express love to another.
So I leave you with this, just remember that we are all humans. We can’t sing nursery rhymes together all the time, but we sure as hell can accept one another. We sure as hell can express kindness to others because all humans are born with kindness in their hearts, so we need to embrace it.
