I am sure you read the title of this and rolled your eyes, because you know it was written directly towards you. I have watched you struggle; I have watched you shine. I have watched you land at rock bottom; I have watched you become so successful. The one thing I have watched recently is you not understanding how important you are.

Boys do not define you.

You are in a relationship? Fantastic, but do not let it ruin your heart.

You are single? Fantastic, but do not let it ruin your morals.

I know the hardships that you have taken on within the past few months. You have followed your heart. Sure you made mistakes, but everyone does. Have you pissed me off to the point where my heart temporarily hates you? Oh definitely.

However, I would do anything for you, including dropping everything to come to pick you up while you vent about whatever you are going through now. Let me tell you something. Really read this part.

You are beautiful.

You are exceptionally growing into a great woman.

You are so smart, even when you say stupid shit.

Your work ethic is phenomenal.

Your soul and heart are so pure.

Your personality is the reason I knew that you were going to be my best friend for life.

I will support you even when you make decisions that I do not approve of. You are worth so much more than you give yourself credit for. My favorite thing about you is that you make me feel so funny. I can say something that any other person would give a pity laugh too, but you... you laugh like I am a comedian.

I also thank God every day that your laugh is not annoying, because you laugh more than you breathe. We laugh at stuff people would think is weird. Remember that time when we were on Thunderation at Silver Dollar City and the hair on the lady in front of us looked like her hair was frozen back straight? To this day, we still laugh until we cry about it and that was like seven years ago.

I am writing this article to you to remind you that you are worth more than diamonds and no matter what you do, please choose to do it because you want to.

Do not let someone else tell you what to do. You are the most independent woman I have ever met. Follow your heart. Follow what your feelings are leading you to. Do not stop until you reach your fullest potential. Promise me that you will not let anyone get in the way of your dreams.

Text me when you read this with "I promise." I should remember why you are sending me that, but if I do not, remind me.

One more thing: can we go get a margarita soon? It is 2019 and I need something good to start it off with.

I love you with my entire being. I am alive today thanks to you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
