Maybe your eyebrows look amazing or your outfit makes you feel adorable. Whatever it is, point out what you love about you to get that ball of positivity rolling right from the moment you wake up.

Life can be one big bag of crazy sometimes but don’t let that overwhelm you. Through meditation, you can de-stress from your hectic life by taking a moment for yourself. Sometimes just clearing your mind for a few moments can help you realize the simple joy of being alive.

Work out for 30 minutes each day

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2017%2F02%2F13%2F636225995437287721-2085713116_work%2520out%2520gif.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=988&h=d8696d3151828dfec68a9ac20d3e02843f8d1457e374401c526e89bcfc6322d5&size=980x&c=1444824917 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2017%252F02%252F13%252F636225995437287721-2085713116_work%252520out%252520gif.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D988%26h%3Dd8696d3151828dfec68a9ac20d3e02843f8d1457e374401c526e89bcfc6322d5%26size%3D980x%26c%3D1444824917%22%7D" expand=1]

Exercising for just 30 minutes has proven to improve mood and creativity as well as helped people to see their goals as being more obtainable. It doesn’t take that much time out of your day- you should take breaks anyway- and you can find all sorts of exercises online to do from your room.

Try something new

Break out of your mundane routine by doing something you’ve never done before. Leaving your comfort zone, even just a little bit, will help you to see the value in yourself. You'll gain a new perspective on your life, increase your self-confidence, and maybe even find your next great passion.

Find your happy place

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2017%2F02%2F13%2F636225998544845144-57788780_happy%2520place%2520gif.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=30&h=a3abfc006f1726f8c5f2e515a5b7f131eb79b0e117a602cdcad1a1420370e6aa&size=980x&c=3848666720 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2017%252F02%252F13%252F636225998544845144-57788780_happy%252520place%252520gif.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D30%26h%3Da3abfc006f1726f8c5f2e515a5b7f131eb79b0e117a602cdcad1a1420370e6aa%26size%3D980x%26c%3D3848666720%22%7D" expand=1]

Whether it’s mental or a literal place you can go, find a place that centers you and helps you be fully present with yourself. For me, I love to sit in front of the window from my room which overlooks the green center of the campus. Having an emotional connection with nature has shown to reduce anxiety, anger, and other negative emotional states, but your happy place doesn’t necessarily need to be in nature. It can be anywhere that makes you feel good.

Realize your beauty

Accept who you are right now with all your faults and imperfections. In this moment, you are exactly who you are meant to be. Once you realize how incredible you are, you’ll form a deeper, more loving relationship with yourself and with the people in your life who love and support you too.

Life is hard, and is even harder with a mental illness. Even if you aren't clinically diagnosed with depression or anxiety, in the hardest times of your life you can probably associate with several of these thoughts. Fear not, everyone else is thinking them too. Maybe we just need a big, loving, group therapy session (or six).

Breakups are hard. There's nothing comparable to the pain of losing someone you thought would be in your life forever. Someone who said all the right things at the right times. Someone who would give you the reassurance you needed, whenever you needed it. And then one day, it just... stops. Something changes. Something makes you feel like you're suddenly not good enough for him, or anyone for that matter.

6 Questions To Ask Yourself When Cleaning Up Your Room

This holiday break is the perfect time to get away from the materialistic frenzy of the world and turn your room into a decluttered sanctuary.

Cleaning isn’t just for spring. In fact, I find school’s holiday break to be a very effective time for decluttering. You’re already being bombarded by the materialistically-infatuated frenzy of society’s version of Christmas, Hanukah, etc. It’s nice to get out of the claustrophobic avarice of the world and come home to a clean, fresh, and tidy room. While stacking up old books, CDs, and shoes may seem like no big deal, it can become a dangerous habit. The longer you hang onto something, whether it be for sentimental value or simply routine, it becomes much harder to let go of. Starting the process of decluttering can be the hardest part. To make it a little easier, get out three boxes and label them Donate, Storage, and Trash. I'm in the middle of the process right now, and while it is quite time consuming, it is also so relieving and calming to see how much you don't have to deal with anymore. Use these six questions below to help decide where an item gets sorted or if it obtains the value to stay out in your precious sanctuary from the world.
