Hockey, rugby, swimming- all sports we've heard of and know how to play. These are some sports not many people have heard of, and are mostly played in other countries:
Bossaball
This is like volleyball but with inflatable trampolines on either side of the net. Players can use any part of their body, not just their hands, to get the ball over the net to win points. You can find tournaments happening on many beaches during the summer time.

Sepak Takraw
Popular in Asia, this is also similar to volleyball but the players use their feet to kick the ball over the net and earn points.

Hornussen
Created in Switzerland, it is a mixture of golf and tennis. The batting team has to hit the ‘Nouss’ (a kind of disk or puck) as far as possible into the other teams space. The defending team has to stop the Nouss as soon as possible by using a shingle or catch board. Usually two turns are played, and each turn, each team hits once and defends once. Each turn, every player hits twice with three attempts. A game has no set length, but it takes about three or four hours to play two rounds.

Bog Snorkeling
The race is along a 60 yard long bog trench, in which the players must complete two lengths. Conventional swimming strokes are not allowed, but snorkels and flippers are mandatory, and wet suits are optional but advisable. Gross!

Canine freestyle dancing
This is an actual sport, in which countries hold national competitions. It started as exercise for both people and their dogs. Instructors are allowed to help people select music for their dog's style and attitude, then choreograph their dance routines. Woof.

Goanna Pulling
Goannas are Australian lizards, but this event does not involve pulling these lizards. The event gets its name from how the participants look like goannas when taking part in this competition. The event requires two people to face each other with a heavy leather strap joining them around their necks, and they pull each other in a version of tug-of-war.

Shin kicking
The aim of shin kicking is simple: kick your opponent as hard as you can in the shins. Each time they fall to the ground you earn a point. The winner is the person with the highest score in the best of three rounds.
