These eleven things are not some big tasks that you must complete in order to live a happy life. They are small, simple ideas that could help you become a more well-rounded and healthier person. Give them shot, you never know what might happen!
1. Eat at least 1 fruit and vegetable
It's a given that most people don't necessarily like to eat fruits and vegetables, I am definitely guilty of that. However, it is important to try to eat one of each a day (to start), to help be healthier. Sure you're not going to have a smoking body, but every little bit helps not only your health but your mood.
2. Drink at least 2 bottles of water
I personally hate water. But I've begun pushing myself to drink 2-3 bottles a day, something I never used to do when I was younger. I've noticed that I have clearer skin and feel more refreshed. It is something I highly recommend and encourage people to try to accomplish every day, you won't regret, despite how many times you may have to go to the bathroom.
3. Exercise
I don't know anyone who likes to be sweaty for a long period of time, but when it comes to working out, there is an exception. No one says you have to work out to the point you are a bodybuilder, but even just 30 minutes a day can make a difference. You will feel stronger, healthier and even get a better night of sleep. Who doesn't love sleep, especially good sleep?
4. Point out something you like about yourself
Someone who has low self-esteem issues, as I do, it is hard to find things to like about yourself. But it is important to remember that no one in this world is perfect. You might not be able to find something you like about your physical features, which is OK. It doesn't have to be physical, it can be something along the lines of, you like how focused you are. This "exercise" will help boost your confidence and overall be a happier person.
5. Smile at people
Smile, smile, smile. Smiling not only makes you happier but smiling at a stranger can brighten their day. They may not know you, but a smile is contagious! Make sure to flaunt those pearly whites, you never know, your smile could help someone's bad day become a little bit better.
6. Tell those in your life that you love/appreciate them
Be sure to tell those who are in your life that you love/appreciate them. Everyone deserves to hear the words, "I love you" or "I appreciate you". It is important to remind those in your life because everyone has days where they might feel insignificant and hearing those phrases can help.
7. Laugh
If you go any day without laughing. Stop right there. Laughing is a must. Turn around and go hang out with friends/family, watch a movie, do something to make yourself laugh. It is vital to your health (OK that's a little exaggerated), it makes you feel joy.
8. Random acts of kindness
Do something nice today. Many people like the small things. Hold a door open for someone, let the person in the turning lane go first, do something for someone without them asking. Just be kind. You will make someone's day with these small acts, and you will feel like a better person as well.
9. Say "please" and "thank you"
I can not stress how important it is to say "please" and "thank you." It is the polite thing to do! Don't be snobby. Appreciate the things people do for you, and be kind while asking for things. No one wants to be around someone who can't bother with something as simple as manners.
10. Relaxation time
At the end of a long day it is important to have some alone time. Take a bath, read a book, give yourself a break. It is OK to take a step back from reality and just be with the thoughts in your head and the quietness of your bedroom. Everyone needs a breather sometimes.
11. Learn something new
This isn't something you have to do every day, but I think it's something that would be fun. Learning a new skill, talent, trick, whatever it may be is interesting. It can be anything from learning how to cook a meal to learning to swim! Open up your imagination and let all those "I want to try that" come to reality.
