Will Ferrell: Comedian, Actor, And Soccer Club Owner

We all know will Ferrell from his hilarious skits on "Saturday Night Live" or from the countless movies we know every line to, like "Step Brothers" and "Anchorman," but now we know him as a new part owner of a new soccer club in Los Angeles. That’s right, Will Ferrell -- alongside Mia Hamm and many others -- is an owner of Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC).

In Will Ferrell's 2005 movie, "Kicking and Screaming," we caught a glimpse at how adept he is in the world of soccer, but his love for the game goes far beyond his coaching abilities in the film. Will's wife played college soccer and his sons play now just like Will Ferrell did when he was a younger boy. So, it might have been hard to imagine Will Ferrell in this commanding position as an owner, but I think his experience and pure love of watching his sons and wife play for so long will drive him to be a great owner to deal with. He is now ready and excited to move his love for soccer onto a bigger scope and have a big role in this new soccer club. While there is already a team in LA, I feel that with this new leadership and especially having the hilarity of Will Ferrell, this new club should be a success and attract players from all over.

LAFC has just recently announced their colors and crest for the upcoming team that should be debuting in 2017. The colors are a beautiful black, dark gold, and splashes of red. Now, those are some awesome colors. The black has always been a staple of the LA Club, but the gold and red give it something new and exciting for this new team. In the crest, is a wing, which pays tribute to the City of Angels.

I already love soccer and I have my favorite teams, but with these colors, the crest and, of course, Will Ferrell I think I have found a new team to call mine. I cannot wait to see where the club goes, and what they have to offer in the next couple of years.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
