Nature is something that I feel is under appreciated. People constantly litter and ruin the natural things that this world has for us. We need to be conscious of nature, and what it has in store for us and others.
1. Nature always has beauty somewhere.
There is something beautiful to look at in all places. It can be the skyline from a mountain parallel to yours. Another great part about nature is lakes, there is always a beautiful “photo moment” that can be taken. The wildlife and how they interact with their surroundings shows the beauty of life.
2. There is always a spot to be by yourself.
When I’m in the forests, or by a lake, my favorite thing to do is sit down and read. It’s a quiet, peaceful spot, where it is just you. It’s awesome to take a walk early in the morning, because you see all the animals from the night slowly creep into their resting spots. The lakes here always have a fog which you can see every morning, and it’s awesome to sit and watch.
3. It sparks inspiration.
I was having major writer’s block (yeah I know a shocker) and I was completely lost on what to do. I was sitting by our lake when I decided to write this. Songs and poems are also completely written based on what people see in nature. It sparks creativity, even technological advances are based off of something in nature. It sparks what some people need to write, invent, or even just learn about or do something for both themselves and others.
4. You feel alive.
At least for me, being in nature makes me feel alive. It gives me this sense that there is something greater, that everything works in tandem with one another. That everything (good and bad) happens for some greater reason that in the moment we do not know about. It is one of the most reassuring things for me that God is with me, and that I don’t have to worry.
5. The possibilities are endless.
The amount of things to do in nature, or even just outside, are endless. There is always something to do, whether it is just taking a walk alone, or hanging out with friends on a sunny day. There is always something that you can do to keep yourself occupied, and that you can have a fun time, while being outside.
Nature is one of my favorite things that I have been blessed to have. Working at a camp, I have so many beautiful photos, and great memories, most of which involve me journaling by the side of the lake. It’s always great to just take a break from reality and sit back and relax and watch nature; the creatures and the trees and everything in between. It’s one of my favorite things to do on a nice summer day.
Nature is very undervalued anymore. People spend so much time inside, we all just need to take a few minutes a day, go outside, and take a walk.
