If you live in Texas, chances are you've heard about the Dallas vs. Houston arguments. You've heard it even more if you attend a Texas college. Both sides are biased towards their hometown, as they rightly should be. However, I took a weekend trip to Houston this past weekend and I definitely believe that I have settled this argument. Yes, I am biased towards Dallas having lived in the area my entire life, BUT I have tried my best to put this bias aside to make my decision. Let's be real, the only thing Houston has going for them is Beyoncé. So here are the reasons that I believe that the Big D is better than H-Town.
1. The traffic is horrible.
If you thought driving in Dallas is bad, try driving in Houston. The highways have more lanes, yet traffic is somehow worse, even at 11 o'clock on a Saturday night.
2. The drivers are even worse.
Don't even get me started on the number of times I was tailgated even though I was going a decent amount over the speed limit. Within my hour drive to Galveston, I saw at least five cars who were weaving in and out of the three-lane highway.
3. Our skyline > yours.
Let's be real, can any city skyline in Texas really compare to this one?
4. Rangers over the Astros any day.
The Rangers have always dominated the Astros, and they have continued their dominance this season. Last season, the Rangers made a last-minute run at the playoffs, taking the division from the former first place Astros. As you can see, the Rangers have won all but four "Silver Boot" battles.
5. The Texans have nothing on the Cowboys.
Five Super Bowl rings vs. zero Super Bowl rings. No argument needed. Although J.J. Watt would look good in blue, white and silver...
6. Our weather is better too.
A lot of people who come to Dallas from a different state complain about the humidity. But you don't know humidity until you've been down in Houston. The humidity reaches into the 80 to 90 percent range. In Dallas, it's usually between 40 to 60 percent.
