There are times in our life where we are stuck and can't take anymore. There's no drive to move forward and continue. It's like trying to move your tires through the mud on a rainy day. There's nothing worse than always putting your best foot forward and never seeing results, never getting the credit you deserve and just living in pure frustration. We all go through it and its part of the process. I know recently it's handed to me I'm working hard, putting all this time into preparing for college, working , writing for Odyssey its gets overwhelming. Especially dealing with my long distance relationship. But here are my 4 steps to getting back to your happiness. It's all about reflection, reevaluating and shifting. Life is like a switch, one minute it's on and it's lit, then that light goes dim. Happiness is something that shouldn't be forced. Happiness, I feel, is something you practice until it becomes an everyday thing. This is for my individuals who want their light back on and this is how you do it:
1) Find something inspirational to keep you going.
2) Figure out what makes you happy. Find out what takes you to zen mode.
What do you love to do? what's something that after a long day you do and puts you in a good mood? I know after a long hard day at Dunkin' Donuts I love to listen to music. Specifically India Arie, she's positive and her voice is divine.
3) Get rid of the person, place or thing that is toxic in your life. If you can get rid of it do so. Can't expect positive results if you are surrounded by negative energy.
4) Take care of yourself: feed your mind, body and spirit. I remember last year when I stressed so bad that I broke out. I let the stress take over and I wasn't eating, meditating, singing or even going outside. I hid away from the outside world because I couldn't handle my own issues. Do not neglect your mind, re-read your favorite, or research a cool theory. Spiritually, not religiously, I say spirituality because it's more intimate within yourself; meditate, listen to your favorite song on repeat, dance, go for a random walk, eat fruits and veggies.
