9 Things To Know If You're Following The WW Plan

I've been following this plan for about 3 months now and I've been loving it! It's much more than just losing weight it's about being the best version of yourself. It's about getting healthier and having more energy to do the things you love with the people you love. I realize this plan isn't for everyone but here's what I find helpful for me:

1. Zero point foods are your friend

There's a list of over 200 zero point foods on the WW app. The list includes veggies, salsa, chicken, and eggs. These foods are great for a quick snack or even to build a meal upon.

2. Don't be afraid to use fat free and low fat foods or condiments

There has been some controversy surrounding low-fat foods but these foods are usually lower in points so don't be afraid to use them.

3. Instagram is your best friend to gain new recipes

There are so many great WW members on Instagram that share great recipes and meal and snack ideas. Get cooking!

4. The app is great to track, scan and track activity

The WW app is a great tool while following this plan. You can track your points, scan barcodes right in the store on items and track your activity with your Fitbit or Apple watch.

5. You can get fun items from gaining wellness wins

You can get wellness wins by tracking breakfast, lunch and dinner and your weight, etc. You can trade in your wins for fun items like a tumbler, a subscription to a meal prep box or the option to donate the money to a charity of your choice.

6. You can always find or make healthier versions of your favorite foods

Finding and swapping out ingredients in a recipe you love is part of the beauty of this program. You can still eat the foods you love, in moderation.

7. Exercise as regularly as you can

A big part of this program is eating right, but another part if it is to get moving as much as you can.

8. The WW community is a great ans supportive one

9. WW is so much more than just loosing weight

Although WW is about losing weight it is also about physically, mentally and spiritually becoming the best version of yourself.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
