What I Wish My High School Self Knew

Hey, it’s you from the future. I know your problems right now seem like the end of the world. I’m writing to tell you that they’re not. I want you to know that you’re going to be just fine. We are 21 and about to graduate college now, and have had some of the best times. Along with those great times, there have also been some of the hardest times yet. Stay focused, be yourself, and know that everything will get better. I know you’re ready to grow up and be an adult, but slow down. You’ll want to turn back the clock before you know it. There are so many things I want to tell you, but that would spoil all the fun. So here are just a few things I want you to remember…

1. Stay home

I know being with your friends 24/7 seems so important and that’s all you want to do, but stay home more and spend time with your family as much as you can.

2. Don’t get upset over that boy

It may seem like he’s worth your tears, but trust me - he’s not. There are much better guys out there.

3. Focus on school

This one is SO important. Do your homework, study, and work hard to help you out for college. When you get to college, spend your freshman year finding yourself, not finding the bars.

4. Freshman 15 is real

Right now you can eat whatever you want and stay skinny. Believe me when I say that goes away!

5. Love yourself

Last but definitely not least, love yourself no matter what. You aren’t fat and it’s okay to be pale. Don’t work so hard trying to impress anyone but yourself.

So I leave you with those few tips. Don’t worry you will turn out all right!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
