Aaaaah, the world of online dating. It's so weird to think, that when we were children, our parents always told us to not talk to strangers... especially online. But now, there is a whole world of online dating. Tinder has blown up and is so massive, that it's almost weird if you don't have an account. Even if you don't take it seriously, it gets addicting swiping left and right and seeing who else is on the app in your location, and to see what the dating pools look like in different places whenever you visit somewhere new.

Tinder is great for a lot of things. There are many people who fell in love because of someone that they met on the app. If you're just looking for a hook-up, you have it at your disposal with a few swipes of your finger. If you're just looking to make new friends in a new area, open the app and just look at who else is as well. You can literally find almost anything on tinder. But with the good, comes the bad, and there are a few experiences that we've been through where the date/hook-up/new friend didn't go exactly as planned. Here are a couple of their stories.

1. The Narcissist

"Okay, so this all started out pretty normal. I matched with this guy Nate*, and we talked for about two weeks on text and everything getting to know each other. Everything seemed to be going pretty well, and we had some great, intellectual conversations. We finally decided to meet up, and he lived about 30 minutes away, so he said he would drive up to see me and we could keep it casual and just get a coffee. So the day finally comes, and I'm actually pretty nervous and excited for this date. I get to the Starbucks we were meeting up at, and everything seems to be going fine at first. Things are a little awkward, but its that first date kind of awkward so nothing too bad. He pays for my drink and we sit down and start talking. He was telling me about his school work, and where he was going with it. Then he talks about how he's working for his universities med lab, and everything seemed really promising. Until he continued to only talk about himself, and his accomplishments... for another four and a half hours. I finally got an excuse to leave - not to mention my ass was absolutely killing me - and he walked me out to my car. He went for a kiss, but I went for a hug and our faces ended up meeting in this terribly awkward, terrible kiss. Needless to say, we never went out again after that." - Danielle, age 20

2. The Artist

"I met this guy Jacques* on tinder, and I was automatically intrigued by him. He was foreign, he was an artist and he was hot as all hell. I was a freshman in college at this point, and so meeting new guys on tinder was still pretty intimidating for me, especially because at that time Tinder was still pretty new. So one night, my best friend and I decided to go the club and I figured that would be a pretty safe place to meet him. We're in the line for the club, and he comes up and I don't know if it was the alcohol or his accent, but hot damn, this guy was hot. I ended up spending the whole night with him, and after we dropped my best friend off back at the dorms, I went back to his place. Everything was going really, really great until I woke up the next morning and found out he still lived with his parents - after quite an embarrassing introduction, mind you - and that he was arguing with his mother in French. Not only was he arguing with his mother, but he was arguing with her about me. Seeing as he took me to his place, I didn't have a car and über wasn't in my town just yet, so I had no way to leave other than for him to drop me off. To top it all off, he had nude paintings of others and himself hung all over the walls of his place. So I was stuck at his place, with him arguing with his mother about me in a language I can't understand, just kind of sitting there awkwardly looking at the nudes he has all over his walls. Not really an ideal first time meeting the parents/first date." - Eleanor, age 25.

3. The Premature

"So, this story... I don't even know where to begin really. I was talking to this guy Chris* that I had matched with on tinder, and he was really great. Seemed interested in me, had his life together, had the same values in family that I had, and it didn't hurt that he was really into working out and it showed cause his body was juuuuuust right. We went out on a couple of dates, and he told me that because he was religious he was waiting until marriage. Now, I don't mind that - especially because he was up front about it. I wasn't waiting till marriage, and so I had a bit more experience than he did. He came in one night after we had hung out, and we were just making out in bed. One thing led to another, and he "finished" in his pants before we had even done anything. He whispered it in my ear, and I couldn't do anything other than laugh because I hadn't experienced anything like this since I was about 15. I tried to be supportive, but I just couldn't look him in the eye anymore after that." - Casey, age 20.

4. The Clinger

"I had agreed to meet with this guy James* after only talking for a little bit. I was a freshman in college at this time, so he came to pick me up from the dorms and everything seemed to be going fine at first. Awkward where it was meant to be awkward... if that makes sense? Anyways, we go to dinner and everything's fine but I'm not really feeling a connection. He offers to pay and we were headed back to the dorms. I figured he would drop me off and that would be the end of it. But he parked his car and didn't want to leave. I didn't want to bring him up to my dorm because I didn't want to send the wrong message. So, I show him around my campus for a bit, trying to feel what he was feeling but it just wasn't there. He still wouldn't leave though. He stuck around, so much so, that my friend whose mother was picking him up ended up meeting James... along with my friends mother. He still didn't get the message though until I told him I had to go do some work. He initially wanted to come with me to do the work, but I told him it was a small space and I think he finally got the message after that. He kissed me and left, but it didn't end there. I texted him saying that I was thankful for him taking me out, but that I just didn't think it was going to work. He seemed fine with it at first, but continued to text me on any major holiday. This would have been fine, but the texts were what a boyfriend would send to their girlfriend on a holiday, not just someone being friendly. He eventually got the message about eight months later when I was dating someone new and had to tell him." Kaitlyn, age 20.

5. The Underage (Grinder addition)

"I was talking to this guy Brandon on Grinder and we had set up a day that we were going to hook-up, because almost everyone uses grinder for hookups and nothing really more serious. So, he comes by my place and we get to talking a little and decide we want to get to know each other a bit more before we decide to hook up. So we go to Cookout to get some food. On the way there though, I learn that he isn't 18 but that he's actually 17 and I was 20 at the time, so a big no. I didn't know what to do really. I take him back to my place and I was trying to get rid of him without being rude, so I text my friends who lived like two apartments away from me, to call and say that their car broke down and that they needed me to come and get them. He fell for it thankfully, and while he went back to his place I stayed at my friends for a bit. Just in case he decided to come back or something like that." - Mason, age 21.

6. The Underage

"This happened about 18 months ago, I matched with this girl, Katerina, who apparently was 18 years old, so legal in Spain, and we started talking on tinder and stuff. She then asked for my number so we then started talking on WhatsApp for about a week or two. Then, she started to send really flirty texts, almost sexting me, which I didn't find that weird, since we had been talking for quite a bit. She would start asking me to come over to Barcelona so we could hang out and "Netflix and chill" but I was all the way up in Pamplona and it was a 4-hour train ride so I wasn't gonna go through that for just Netflix and chill. The more we talked the more I realized her profile was full of lies. She wasn't 18, she was actually 16, her picture on tinder wasn't actually hers, it was one of her more attractive friends, and she was just flat out a sexual creep. She would go on and on about all the things she wanted to do to me, not just in bed, she was into public sex too. It was a little to much in my opinion, and the graphic snapchats and voice notes just did it for me. I wanted out. She was too creepy. She kept on messaging me asking me to come down to Barcelona, or that she was gonna come up to Pamplona to f**k me. It was super weird, and I just didn't know what to do. So I blocked her on tinder and WhatsApp because I didn't wanna be harassed anymore. And I was 18 at the time, so very very illegal." - Jose, age 21.

Thank you for those that shared their stories, we all will laugh at your pain and feel for you. Good luck to those on tinder, it's an experience that's for sure.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
