2015 has finally ended. That doesn't mean we cannot look back on another exciting time in the sports world. Here are some of the top moments in sports from 2015:
- Golden State proves the experts wrong
They said a jump-shooting team would never win the ultimate prize in professional basketball. They also said the league MVP would be too small and weak to accomplish any high feat such as Most Valuable Player. Look at them now; the professional basketball team in Oakland, Calif. made believers out of everyone.
- The fight of this generation turns into a bust
It was suppose to be the boxing match of superpowers. This generation's two greatest fighters in one match turned into a side show as America spent millions of dollars promoting this match. The fight itself looked like two old men dueling in chess.
- Patriots win another Super Bowl, with help as usual

It's usually the other way around. The New England Patriots are used to winning games by any means necessary: deflated footballs, hidden cameras, etc. However, it was their opponents, the Seattle Seahawks, whose red zone decision helped the Patriots go from cheaters to champions.
- Kansas City is royal

Remember those dark days when Major League Baseball fans knew the Royals would never be contenders? Well, after falling short in the previous World Series, the franchise from Kansas City finally broke through in 2015.
- History is made on the race track
It had been close to 40 years since any horse accomplished the near-impossible feat of winning the Triple Crown (Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes and The Preakness). American Pharaoh became only the 12th horse to win the title.
- Jordan and Serena bite the bullet of history
Jordan Spieth, a 22-year-old pro golfer from Texas, and Serena Williams, professional tennis player, both came close to joining the records in their respective sports. Spieth won both the Masters and the the U.S. Open and finished just shy of a British open victory for the trifecta. While Williams was one match away from winning the Grand Slam title. She fell short in the U.S. Open title match, which because of William's historic run, sold out before the men's tournament.
