Practically, my whole life I have heard people say "golf isn't a sport". Usually, those who say that have never actually played the game of golf. It is a sport and it is challenging. As a golfer, I know the many struggles golfers face everyday.
1. Tan Lines
Tan lines are one of the many results of being a golfer. No matter how much you tan, those permanent socks are not going away.
2. Slow Players
One of the biggest pet peeves of a golfer is slow players. We all know that person who takes "mulligans" repeatedly or the slow group that you hate playing behind.
3. The Swing
The swing is the most important factor to golf. Golfers take hundreds of lessons and practice repeatedly in order to perfect their swing.
4. Putting
Oh how I loath lip outs and 3 putts. Nothing will spike your blood pressure more than going to tap in an easy 1 footer and it lips out resulting in a 3 putt.
5. Out of Bounds and Water Hazards
The out of bounds and water hazards are what can really tally up someone's score.
6. Sand Traps
Those deep, deep sand traps are killer.
7. Keep Calm and Play Golf
Everyone has good days and bad days but it is important to always remain calm. It is not the end of world (although it may feel like) to have one bad hole. You have plenty of time to make up for it so forget about it and focus on the next shot.
8. Practice, Practice, Practice
As the old saying goes "practice makes perfect". Golf is a year around sport which means practicing everyday in all types of weather.
9. Mental Toughness
Golf is a 90% mental and 10% physical sport. Therefore, for golfers to be successful they have to have mental toughness. There will always be opponents who will try to get into your head and you have to be tough enough to block it out.
10. Golf Balls & Tees Everywhere
All golfers know that they find golf balls and tees in their pockets, car, and even the bathroom. But, never find them where they are suppose to be which is in their golf bag.
