The NFL Has Made Its Return

The grills are being fired up, the coolers are being filled, and the snack platters are being laid out. Jerseys are being broken out to be worn once again. This can only mean one thing, the long suffering off-season has come to an end and NFL Football has made its long awaited return. Sundays once again belong to the NFL. Every where you go, people are in one way or another supporting their favorite team while preparing to spend their Sunday watching football. The brand new season means a fresh start for teams and fans. Everyone forgets the miseries of last season while hoping that the off season changes will bring them success. Fans dedicate their Sundays to their favorite teams. 16 weeks worth of Sundays are for football. Why is this? Why do we as a society dedicate months worth of one day for football? What is it about NFL football that gets us so hooked? In my opinion, it's the aspect competition that we all crave. The competition of this sport provides a great amount of fun for all fans. There is tailgating. There is attending the actual game. There are viewing parties dedicated to the game itself. NFL football creates 16 consecutive weeks of "Sunday Funday" for fans. Once a week, fans everywhere have the chance to forget all the stresses they are experiencing and just sit back, enjoy a nice party, all while watching their favorite team leave it all on the field to get a win. NFL football also has the ability to bring many people together. Fans all over the country come together to root for their respective teams and to root against rival teams. Restaurants and bars become filled with fans. The parking lots of stadiums becoming packed with people hours before kick-off, and as game time approaches, the stadiums begin to fill up as well. As many as 100,000 fans can pack into a single NFL stadium to watch a game. Fans throughout the country dedicated their Sundays solely to enjoying a day of football. In my opinion, NFL Sundays are what they are cause of 3 things. These things are the competitiveness the sport brings out of us, the amount of fun that football provides us with, and the fact that football brings fans everywhere together. With week 1 of the NFL season just about in the books I'm happy to be able to say there's 15 more weeks to enjoy. From fans all over the country, football, it's good to have you back.
