A Thank You Letter To My Boyfriend On Our 6th Anniversary

Dear Jared,

Who knew the boy that I met in 5th grade would mean so much to me on down the road. 9th grade was a year I will never forget many new things happened for me. The start of high school, my marching band winning upper state (shout out to 2010 Marching Cadets!!) but most of all I will never forget the day you asked little ole me out.

From our first date (which was by far from ordinary) to all the proms i dragged you to... to present day, you have continually showed me love. i put the emphasis on the word "showed" because you are more of an actions over words type of guy. but i wouldn't have it any other way. we have grown so much over the years, and my love for you keeps growing.

As today marks 6 whole years together I would like to take some time just to say thank you because I feel maybe i don't say it enough.

They say love is showed mostly through the "little things" and I couldn't agree more.. so with that being said want to say thank you for:

Letting me have the pink mentos even though they are your favorite

For making me try new things.

if it wasn't for you I never would have found my favorite dish at Fatz (which they so rudely took off the menu... I'm still pretty salty about it)

For making the best bacon I have ever tasted.

a talent of yours that will definitely not be wasted

For helping reach high placed things.

For taking countless selfies with me.

For letting me pick what to watch....

even though you know 99% of the time I'm going to pick Parks and Recreation

For driving around town just so I won't be bored.

For making me think outside the box

For having educated debates on certain issues.

you still have yet to convince me dinosaurs existed.

For sharing your family with me.

it is a privilege to be able to say i have two separate families who love me.

For not letting me get lost in IKEA

For putting my IKEA furniture together

For being my biggest motivation and biggest motivator.

I love how you are so motivated to finish school which in turn makes me motivated.

For letting me get pancakes AND french fries at restaurants and for only slightly judging me for it.

For being so good with animals.

it is literally the cutest thing to watch you play with cats.

For the entertaining meme wars.

For sharing multiple holidays, birthdays, graduations and countless other celebrations with me.

Thank you for your patience.

thank you for being so laid back and just going with the flow of things.

most of all thank you for the best 6 years of my life. I love you.

For always and Ever,

Corky.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
