As things in our world become chaotic and filled with panic following recent tragic and horrible events, it is easy to realize how many things we have to be thankful for in our lives. Some people around the world aren’t as lucky as many of us are, myself included. So I just wanted to take the time out to give thanks for some of the things that I am so blessed to have in my life.
To my Mom and Dad,
Thank you for always being there for me no matter what, and for always doing whatever it takes to make sure that I have a life filled with the things that you lacked when you were younger. Thank you for teaching me the right things to do, even though I haven’t always listened to your advice (when I definitely should have). Thank you for always making sure that I have had a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on my plate and love surrounding me. And most of all, thank you for shaping me into the person I am today, because I would have never gotten here if it weren’t for the both of you. Thank you for being my parents and my role models, I love you both more than anything.
To my siblings,
Even though you guys can be annoying to the point where I want to rip out my hair at times, I am so blessed to have such amazing siblings. Thank you for always making me laugh when I need it most, and for being so caring even at such a young age. I would be completely lost without you both and I am so thankful to be able to call myself your sister.
To my best friends,
Thank you for being my rocks through it all, and for dealing with all of my insanity. Thank you for being there at 2 p.m. when I just need to get Chipotle and Starbucks because I’m having a rough day, and for being there at 2 a.m. when I’m an out of control crazy person coming home from a party. Life would be absolutely boring and incomplete if it weren’t for all of you, and I’m so blessed to have met such amazing people who I get to call my best friends. Thank you for being the people who will tell me when I’m being a paranoid psychopath, and for giving me advice and sticking by my side no matter how many dumb/bad decisions I make along the way. Thank you for being exactly what I need to get through the hardest times in my life, and for being the most exciting and entertaining when I need to celebrate the good times.
And lastly, I would like to say thank you to God for blessing me with such a beautiful life filled with so many amazing people and memories. Thank you for always looking out for me in my times of need, and for helping me through the darkest of times. Thank you for surrounding me with unfailing love, which I am especially grateful for on this Thanksgiving.
