Bikinis are the reason I feel fortunate enough that I live in Florida. This is one of the only states that practically has one season year-round: summer. We can go to the beaches or to the pool any time of the year and not have a problem with it being too cold to tan. Residents of New York, for example, cannot go to the beach and tan during December, but we can in Florida. (Sorry guys.)
Lately I have been obsessing over the most fashionable bikini lines this summer and here is what I found:
1. Marysia Swim
The designer of Marysia Swim, Maria Dobrazanska Reeves, draws inspiration from “fashion, surf and travel." Practically the curator of the scallop design, Maria designed this brand with the goal of creating “the epitome of poolside style.” These bikinis are soft, feminine, and adorable with a fresh and sophisticated style.
2. Made By Dawn
Made by Dawn was created by Dawn Peterson, a Hawaii native who bases her business out of California. She focuses more on elemental themes, making her bikinis much more simple. Inspired by coastal living, these bikinis are known for their distinct frill and romantic designs.
3. Kiini
The mastermind behind Kiini, Ipek Irgit, was born in Turkey and raised in New York. She found her inspiration for these bohemian yet contemporary bikinis through beaches she has traveled to around the world. A Kiini can be spotted from miles away due to their vibrant colors and distinct intensely contrasted stitching.
4. Mara Hoffman
Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Mara Hoffman studied design in New York City and in London thereafter. Being a woman of many travels, she found inspiration in all the places she has ventured to, which is demonstrated by the natural patterns etched in these enchanting bikinis. Although she has always drawn inspiration from nature and mythology, these bikinis are especially filled with colorful and playful designs.
5. Mikoh
Mikoh swimwear was created by the powerful sister duo Oleema and Kalani Miller. Born and raised in Orange Country, California, the sisters discovered inspiration from the beaches in their backyard, foreign beaches, different cultures and newfound lands. Their mission for their bikinis was to incorporate “femininity, beauty and strength” into the line. Known for their silky fabric and seamless finish, these bikinis are simple yet one-of-a-kind and great for mixing and matching.
