You may have heard about the fact that women love expensive things. Diamond rings, 3-course meals, nail appointments, shopping, etc. But I have a question for you:

Are you with the right woman?

Here it is my guys - the things that we, as women, appreciate the most. It doesn't have to be an expensive gift for it to mean something. I promise you.

We're more about gestures and the true meaning behind a gift. It can be a cheap gift, but if it has significance to it, we'll cherish it forever. Stay tuned.

1. Flowers.

The most stereotypical gift for a woman would be flowers and chocolates. The chocolates don't really mean anything though - it's food. We can go out and buy chocolate anytime we want it.

We can also equally as likely buy ourselves flowers when we feel like treating ourselves, but when we get surprised with them for no reason at all, we're flattered. Really, flowers can flatter us and make us smile so big. It doesn't have to mean anything either; flowers are beautiful and temporary, but the fact that a man takes time out of his day to think twice about grabbing flowers for his girlfriend is where they went right. Take notes.

2. Dinner.

This one might also seem stereotypical, but for the most part, we aren't expecting this type of treatment. When my boyfriend decides to take me out to dinner, it's a bonding experience and a coming together moment for us since we only ever cook or eat out and stay in all day.

Going out, getting dolled up, and having dinner with our significant others is truly an unforgettable time just because we aren't expecting it firsthand. Surprise a woman with this and she'll remember it for a much longer time.

3. Visiting her unexpectedly.

A surprise visit is the life of the party. When women aren't expecting it, it's an eye-opener. If you're texting her and you don't mention that you're popping in to say hi, cook dinner or to hang out, she'll be sure to smile and appreciate you more.

Surprises are the most fun part, though we women sometimes hate being surprised because we want to know what's going to happen.

4. Cards.

Taking the time to find a card, write a message inside of it, and hand-deliver it to your girlfriend is a gesture in itself. Reading a message that someone wrote directly toward us that has inside jokes, gestures or questions are intriguing and super cute. You can't go wrong here. Even handmade cards would work; if anything, those are better.

5. Coffee.

This one is such a good example.

For me, at least, I love having coffee in the mornings to start my day. I normally make my own coffee and make it iced.

But lemme tell you fellas - make or buy coffee for your girl, and you've earned her heart. Especially if you can get her order 100% accurate without needing to ask her for clarification.

I hope you take these examples and run with them. Happiness isn't at the tip of a dollar bill. Money isn't always necessary to make women happy; all that we ask is that you be yourselves and look out for us. Stay loyal, crack jokes, watch movies with us, and most of all, love us. We're usually happy if you're happy.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
