QB’s to Start:
Andy Dalton. His quality of play has been equivalent to the color of his hair—he has been absolutely on fire this season. He threw for 3 TD’s the past two games, and he is going up against a Chiefs defense who got torn up on Monday night by Mr. Discount Double Check. With the Chiefs on short rest and the Bengals playing at home, Dalton is a must start.
Derek Carr. He has been a surprise this year. The 2nd year quarterback has played well his past two games, throwing for 300+ yards and 2+ touchdowns. The Raiders will be traveling to Chicago to play the Bears, who have not looked good at all this season. With the Bears depleted defense, I expect Carr to have a good game.
QB’s to Sit:
Eli Manning. The Giants will be traveling just a bit north this week to play the Bills who have a stout defense. Although Eli hasn’t thrown a pick all season, I expect that to change this Sunday. The Giants offensive line has not looked great thus far, and with Rex Ryan’s extensive blitz packages, I expect them to exploit the Giants O-line and cause problems for Eli. I’d sit him.
Matt Stafford. Stafford is playing the Seahawks on Monday night…in Seattle. With that crowd, and the way the Lions have been playing, I expect trouble for Stafford and the Lions. Plus, Stafford hasn’t thrown for more than 300 yards within the first three games, and that streak will most likely continue after this week’s game against the Seahawks defense. I’d sit him.
RB’s to Start:
Frank Gore. Gore looked like the Gore we know and love last week against the Titans, scoring twice and rushing for 86 yards. The Colts are going up against the Jaguars this week. Need I say more?
Melvin Gordon. Melvin Gordon has had a quiet rookie season up until now. But I think Gordon will turn it around against the Browns this week. I expect him to get his first rushing touchdown this week.
RB’s to Sit:
Jeremy Hill. It is safe to say Jeremy Hill has been a huge fantasy bust thus far. With the Bengals 3-0, it seems that they have turned into a team that relies more on the passing game, which has been working well for them. With that being said, Gio Bernard fits into the offense better when it’s pass heavy, which is what we have seen the past two weeks. I’d sit Hill this week.
C.J. Anderson. He may be an even bigger disappointment than Hill is. He can’t seem to stay healthy throughout a game. Until the Broncos get their offense efficiently, I’d sit him.
WR’s to start:
Amari Cooper. It looks like Cooper is Derek Carr’s new favorite target in Oakland. He has had 100+ receiving yards the past two games. He’ll be going against the Bears, so he should have a big game this week.
Ted Ginn Jr. Him and Greg Olsen seem to be the only ones Cam Newton looks to pass to. Ginn is a deep ball threat, and I have a feeling the Panthers will utilize him well against the Bucs in Tampa. It may be a gamble to start him, but if you need your flex position filled, Ginn could make or break you winning this week. I’d take the chance and start him.
WR to sit.
Golden Tate. Tate really hasn’t done much the past two games. He hasn’t had a 100-yard receiving game this season. With the weapons Stafford has on offense, it will be tough to see Tate get a lot of targets, especially against the Seahawks. I’d sit him.
TE to Start:
Charles Clay. The giants always seem to have a tough time guarding the opposing team's tight end. Clay has had a touchdown in his past two games, and with Watkins and McCoy potentially out, I expect Tyrod Taylor to look for him more this weekend.
TE to Sit:
Martellus Bennett. With Jimmy Clausen throwing him the ball, I just don’t trust Bennett to produce even though he is going up against the Raiders. If you have another tight end with a favorable matchup, I’d start them.
Defense to Start:
Indianapolis. They’re playing the Jaguars. Coming off a win last week, they have momentum and I you’ll see the defense play a lot better this week. I’d play Indianapolis.
Defense to Sit:
Miami. Last week they got smacked by the Bills. Traveling to London to play the Jets this week, I expect the Jets to run all over them this week.
