Can We Stop With Bandwagon Fans

Can we stop with the Bandwagoning?

As a long-suffering New York Jets and Mets fan I can tell you there are times watching them and wonder why do I root for them? Many people have told me root for the teams that win. First off Band wagoning is never good to do. Yes it is tough when your favorite team is eliminated/out of the playoffs but that doesn’t mean you should just make it look like you’ve always been a fan of the team who’s winning. With the NBA playoffs and the Stanley Cup Playoffs in full swing right now many fans of the teams who are eliminated are wondering what to do. Seeing that the Golden State Warriors have the best season since the 95-96 bulls a lot of fans have hopped on that bandwagon. Please don’t be like them.

The Miami Heat fan base is another example back in 2006 after winning their first title many people jumped on that bandwagon. After two bad seasons it was like they were forgotten about. Cue LeBron James saying he’s taking his talent to south beach and everyone and their mothers were Heat fans. The Heat was a great team nonetheless. The fan base was pathetic. “Fans” who claimed to be die-hard could barely name players from 5 years ago. Also was the constant trash talk they would dig out saying how their team was the best ever and how our teams were bad. After 4 straight trips to the NBA finals of which they walked out as champions twice LeBron left the Heat to rejoin with the Cleveland Cavaliers. And with that majority of the Miami Heat fans left the team.

Now there are a few rules one should follow if they decide to bandwagon.

1. If you aren’t with the team at their worst don’t expect to be welcomed when they’re at their best. Going back to the Mets after dealing with many years of heartbreak seeing them win the 2015 NLCS was huge. We had been through so much trash talk that the win showed everyone were back.

2. If you’re going to claim to be a fan of the team do some research. Don’t look up the entire history of the team but at least know former legends, records they held, maybe some coaches and of course the awards won by the players.

3. Don’t trash talk unless your ready to deal with backlash when it comes back to bite you.

4. The most important one Don’t jump on any bandwagon stick with the team you love because when they reach that reign of glory it is greatest moment for you the fan.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
