We all have it at one point or another.

Summertime is a great time to spend time with family and friends, go on vacation, relax by the poolside, and so much more. Summers are supposed to be full of relaxation and stress-free. With the school year beginning in a couple weeks and summer vacations ending, many people may be feeling stressed and anxious. Growing up, I have always stressed over the littlest things in life. Over the years, I have found things that help me reduce stress and make me feel better. Here are seven fun and easy ways that help me reduce stress, and can help you too:

1. Baking.

Baking is my favorite thing to do. I love baking brownies, cookies, cupcakes, etc. Being able to beat all the ingredients together is really therapeutic. Plus, you get a tasty treat at the end. Another plus is that if you are on a diet, then you can give somebody else a treat. Maybe you can give them to a neighbor or family member.

2. Take a shower or bath.

Hot showers or baths are so relaxing and a great way to reduce stress. Go to a local bath and body shop and purchase some powders, bubbles, bath bombs, etc. to make your bath even better.

3. Watch Netflix and eat a snack.

There is every type of movie and series on Netflix. Whether you are in the mood for a horror movie or a comedy series, you can be sure to have your needs met on Netflix. Netflix is even better with a snack. Pop a bag of popcorn or open a bag of chips to enjoy with whatever you are watching.

4. Research whatever is stressing you out.

Now, as a biology major and hopefully doctor one day, I know that Google cannot diagnose you, but it can possibly make you feel better. Google usually tells you that you are going to die in three days when you type in your symptoms, but websites also come up with people who are having the same problem as you. It makes me feel better to know that I am not the only person in the world experiencing the feelings or problems that I have.

5. Spend time with friends.

They are called friends for a reason. Whether you need to vent to them or do some retail therapy, they will always be there for you. My friends always know how to put a smile on my face, and I know that I can always count on them. Grab a cup of coffee and chat, go to the mall, go for a hike, etc. There is a lot you can do with your friends to help reduce stress.

6. Exercise.

Running, walking, swimming, yoga, meditation, and sports are all greats ways of exercising and relieving stress. It has been scientifically proven that when you exercise your body produces endorphins. Endorphins are chemicals in your brain that act as painkillers naturally. Therefore, when you exercise, you are reducing stress.

7. Take a nap.

Whenever I am stressed and take a nap, I always feel better after. Maybe you are stressed because you are sleep-deprived. Also, studies have shown that you may be able to solve some of your problems in your sleep. Nap time is the best time.

With summer ending and school starting right around the corner, I hope these ways are helpful for reducing stress. There are many ways to deal with stress and these seven ways have always worked best for me. So, next time you're stressed to the max, grab a mixing spoon, towel, your computer, a friend, your pair of sneakers, or a blanket. Also, if you are stressed, do not be afraid to ask for help if needed. As Steve Maraboli once said, "You must learn to let go and release the stress." I hope this article was helpful and that you all enjoy the rest of your summer!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
