She's back, with a vengeance.

Last week, the world was taken along for a ride that could only be titled as the "Ronda Rousey redemption tour."

After her surprising loss to boxer Holly Holm, many of her fans took a seat, mailing in some of their respect, no longer interested after she lost her undefeated moniker. When you’re paid to win, losing is never the ideal outcome. Until Saturday, the only thing Ronda Rousey did was win. She was a perfect 12-0 in her MMA career. She was starring in movies and appearing on late night TV. In 2015, Rousey’s star burned brighter than almost every athlete – male or female. And then with one swift (yet forceful) kick to the face, that star was out.

But it's burning again, as Rousey is putting herself back in the public eye. In an emotional interview last week on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Rousey talked about how she felt she lost it all after her loss to Holm, and contemplated ending her own life. "Honestly ... I was sitting in the corner [of the post-fight medical room she was in] and was like, 'What am I anymore if I'm not this?' She told Ellen and the audience. "I was literally sitting there thinking about killing myself."

For the previously undefeated and seemingly invincible Rousey- Whose own father committed suicide when she was 8, something that Rousey pulls from as motivation in her own life-- it was an existential crisis, a loss of identity and purpose.

"In that exact second, I'm like, 'I'm nothing. What do I do anymore?" she said, wiping away tears. "No one gives a s--t about me anymore without this.'"

What saved her, she said, was her devotion to her boyfriend, UFC fighter Travis Browne, who was standing at her side. "I looked up at him and I was just like, 'I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive.' "

And alive she is, as she now goes through a whirlwind of public and print appearances, as well as acting stints before she goes back into the ring.

Appearing the following Tuesday night on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Rousey talked about her cover shooting for this year's SI Swimsuit Issue, where she is one of three cover models, while also promoting her next big film, a remake of the Patrick Swasey film, Roadhouse. More importantly, however, she explained her desire to fight Holm, and this time, take home the win. When asked about the potential of the rematch, Rousey just said "Of course," which was met by an eruption of cheers from the audience.

"Of course I want to fight Holly," Rousey also told DeGeneres, pulling no punches (no pun intended.) "I want to beat her and make everything right again."

Time will tell if everything is truly right again, as Rousey won't ever be able to erase the loss off of her record. But taking these steps, talking about the loss and ramifications after it, might be the steps needed to save her career. I for one can't wait to see her return to the ring, and bring this train back into the station.
