As a Patriots fan, I gotta admit that this mightve been one of the craziest games ever. It seemed like the Baltimore Ravens were going to have a long night after the Patriots were winning 23-3 but I knew in my mind that you have to play 'til the end against the Ravens and the Patriots eventually pulled this game out with a 30-23 victory.
Coming into this game, the Ravens had arguably one of the top 5 defenses in the NFL and were number one in stopping the run. The Patriots' gameplan in that first half is stop the high powered Ravens led by Quarterback Joe Flacco who did finish throwing two touchdowns: one to Tight End Darren Waller and running back Kenneth Dixon. After the Patriots took a 16-3 lead at half, Patriots QB Tom Brady threw an 18 yard touchdown pass to tight end Martellus Bennett which looked to be a complete blowout. Then the struggles came with the special teams as on back to back fumbles gave the Ravens some life. However, Tom Brady's pass to Chris Hogan was the dagger in the Ravens' comeback hopes. This was not only a great game to watch as a Pats fan, but the Monday Night Football ratings of viewers watching that game went higher. As the end of the Holiday season approaches, the Patriots seem to be playing well at both offense and defense.
Good luck to the Patriots and the rest of their season. Hopefully, they'll be looking forward to holding the Lombardi Trophy come Febuary, but let's not look too far away from there. Every step forward counts and with many teams in contention such as the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Kansas City Chiefs, the road to the Super Bowl won't be as easy as people might think.
