The nets have been cut and the clock has struck midnight. No matter who you had winning or losing, the Big Dance has come to an end.
Every year, fans plan weeks in advance for this moment, and it seems as if this day is like kryptonite to every basketball fan.
For those of you who didn't watch the tournament this year or isn't a fan of basketball, this is for you. While you may not have wanted to watch the games, you should still know what exactly happened so that you can pull out the fake smile and act like you know exactly happened.
64 teams (no, not 68) made the tournament with a chance to head to Indianapolis with a chance to win the tournament.
Over 64 million brackets were made, and only one bracket was perfect after the round of 64.
Georgia State, with the help of RJ Hunter, went on a 13-0 run to defeat Baylor 57-56 — the first major upset of the tournament. (Thanks for busting my bracket!)
Iowa State, a favorite to make the final, was upset in the first round when they lost to UAB 60-59.
2015 just wasn't the year a 16 seed would upset a No. 1 seed.
Davidson, a heavy favorite to upset Iowa, lost by 31 points.
VCU, the 2011 Final Four heroes, were knocked off by Ohio St.,
Then Shaka Smart said "peace" and went to Texas.
SMU got called for goaltending, and paid the price with a loss to UCLA 60-59.
Louisville struggled but survived against the UC Irvine Anteaters.
And the world found out there is a school with an Anteater as its mascot.
Michigan State pulled the upset of the tournament beating Virginia in round 32.
Then again, never doubt Tom Izzo during tournament season.
North Carolina State took down No. 1 Villanova 71-68.
Proving once again that Villanova wasn't a true No. 1 seed.
Notre Dame and Butler battled it out in overtime before the Irish took the win 67-64.
The Shockers really didn't Shock the world after beating Kansas 78-65.
North Carolina made it back to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2012.
Georgia State, the Cinderella team, lost to Xavier ending their run for the title.
UCLA became the new Cinderella team...by default.
West Virginia's Daxter Miles Jr. said they would beat Kentucky in the Sweet 16.
Then lost by 39...typical freshmen, running their mouths.
Frank Kaminsky and the Badgers hung on to beat the Tar Heels 79-72.
UCLA finally was knocked out by Gonzaga to put the Bulldogs in the Elite Eight.
Duke was the first to cut the nets, beating Gonzaga 66-52.
Tom Izzo finally brought Sparty back to the Final Four beating Louisville.
Kentucky had to go to the buzzer to beat Notre Dame 68-66.
Wisconsin rounded out the Final Four beating Arizona 85-78.
So, the Final Four had three number 1 seeds and one underrated number 7 seed.
Coach K was able to end Izzo's run, beating Michigan State by 20, 81-61.
Wisconsin was finally able to do what no team could this season, beat Kentucky 71-64
So, the stage was set for Duke and Wisconsin in the finale at Lucas Oil Stadium.
But not before Frank the Tank took home the Player of the Year award.
In the end however, Coach K was too much for the Badgers.
As Duke, led by Tyus Jones and Jahlil Okafor, took down Wisconsin 68-63.
Congrats Duke on your fifth National Championship under the great Coach K.
