Life: As crazy, unpredictable, and twisted as it might be, is full of adventure, laughter, and love. From the day we are born, our journey of self-discovery and finding our place began. Often at times, we feel overwhelmed and lost in the confusion of what our purpose is or where we belong. It is easy to become engulfed in the hardships or obstacles life throws our way, and sometimes it is hard to accept that we're not happy with who we became.

The fact of the matter is, it is never too late to create your own happiness and be the best version of you there is. In order to do this, we must learn to never let our insecurities define us and accept the ones we cannot change, learning to love the ones that make us unique.

1. Surround yourself with people who are excited to be around you.

Being around happy people is always a good thing. But being around people who are happy to be around you, is even better.

2. Learn to love all aspects of yourself.

Love not only the qualities you consider "desirable," but love the "less desirable" ones all the same. Realize that all aspects make you the person you are and if you are satisfied with them, than you will ultimately love yourself a lot more.

3. Often think about your accomplishments and be proud of them.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with reminding yourself of all the good you've done and all your achievements to help boost your mood. Also, do not forget to reward yourself for meeting a personal goal, no matter how small it may be. Never let a bad day take away from all you've accomplished.

4. Eat cleaner, be healthier.

Do not do this for anyone other than yourself. Be healthier and happier for you and only you.

5. Get excited about your future.

Be positive and hope to be successful in your future endeavors. Don't lose sight of all the amazing things that are ahead of you. It never hurts to dream big.

6. Never talk negatively about someone.

We've all done it in the past. But really what do we accomplish from talking badly about someone else? If they are toxic, then we should just avoid them, rather than spending our energy talking about negativity. Having only good things to say about people will make you that much more of a better person.

7. Save time to do the things you enjoy.

Life can be chaotic, as I'm sure we all know. We need to remember to relax sometimes and have some fun; life is far too short to always be worried about something.

8. Detach yourself from the people who make you feel insignificant.

It is never okay to be around people who are just trying to be bring you down. It might be time to reevaluate who you spend your time with, if you constantly feel "not good enough" or left out. Surround yourself with people who want to be around you and who love every version of you.

9. Do not forget to remind yourself how lucky you are.

Any time life gives you any reason to doubt yourself, try not to forget the bigger picture and realize just how fortunate you are in the big scheme of things. If you have family, a place to sleep at night, and clothes to put on your back, you're still extremely lucky.

10. Never rely on someone else to give you happiness.

Try not to give any inconstant or inconsistent things in your life the power of your happiness.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
