Nearly everyone has at least a few things that they want to partake in or accomplish before their time on this earth is up. The name for such a list is a bucket list. Whether someone has taken the time to write their list out or if it's just up in their head, almost everyone has one. I, however, am a little different. Sure, there's quite a few things I want to do before I die, but my main bucket list is a sports bucket list. Here's what sporting events I want to go to and watch before I die:
Go to a Major League Baseball World Series Game Seven. Game seven's of any major sport are nothing short of amazing, but baseball is by far my favorite sport, so it only makes sense that this tops the list. Hopefully I can make it the next time the St. Louis Cardinals are playing for a world championship.
Go back to The Master's Golf Tournament. A couple years ago, my dad took my two brothers and I to one of the practice round days, but now I want to go to the official tournament and watch the world's best golfers battle it out on one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world.
Attend a Super Bowl. This event might be on a lot of people's normal bucket lists. I enjoy football, but it's not my favorite sport. However, the Super Bowl is one of the most watched events on television every year.
Go to a game of the Stanley Cup Finals, preferably when the Blackhawks are in it. I just got into hockey in the past couple years, and it's already one of my favorite things to watch, especially since I go to college near Chicago. Seeing the Hawks play in or even win a Stanley Cup Finals would definitely be something to remember.
Watch a game at every Major League Baseball Stadium. Out of all of these events, this may be one of the most difficult because it involves so much traveling. However, as I said earlier, baseball is my sport, so this would be an amazing feat to accomplish. So far, I've attended five out of the thirty MLB ballparks.
Go to a Yankees-Red Sox game. Whether it is at Yankee Stadium or Fenway Park, as long as I can watch one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports, I'm perfectly content with that.
Watch an Oregon Ducks football game at Autzen Stadium. Not a whole lot of people know, but I am a huge Oregon Ducks football fan. Honestly, it all started with their flashy uniforms, but I'm more invested in the team, school, and program now. Autzen Stadium is known to be one of the loudest college football environments in the nation, so it would be awesome to be a part of that.
Go to the College Baseball World Series. College baseball is one of the most underrated, yet raw and passionate sports out there, but it's one of the most exciting to watch. I definitely see a trip to Omaha, Nebraska for watch the CWS in my future.
Attend Major League Baseball Spring Training. Now, this is an important one. Spring Training is one of the best chances to see what each organization has within their farm system and watch the top prospects in baseball. Hopefully I can make it to Florida for a week within the next couple of years to watch some of baseball's best young talent.
At the moment, that's all I can think of. I'm sure as soon as I finish this article I'll think of a couple more things to add, but I think this is a pretty good list. Everyone wants to do be able to say that they did at least one thing they really wanted to do in their lifetime. So, let me ask you, what does your bucket list look like?
