We all get to that point in the semester when all we can think about is our next break from school and more likely than not we have a nice countdown on our whiteboards outside our door just to make sure everyone knows how many days we have left. Here are some tips to make your life easier and a little less rocky while powering through the days or weeks you have left until you can sleep with no alarm.

Instead of telling yourself you are going to work out in the morning if you are not a morning person, create time in the afternoon when it is more logical for you to fit in a workout. As much as it is a pain and more often than not Netflix and our bed seems much more fitting than going for a run, you will reduce stress and anxiety and you will feel refreshed and reenergized to hit the books after you work out.

Eating well is important to keep your body healthy so next time you go for a plate full of those warm fresh from the oven dining hall cookies, think again. Instead, go for some fruit that will satisfy your tastebuds but will not make you feel like you need to be rolled out of the dining hall. There is even a perk for switching out a cookie for fruit because healthy food is food for the brain, it will make you think clearer which will help you in your studies.

Maybe you are someone who always goes to the library and studies alone. Mix it up and find a study group, there is no better way to study for a test than to bounce ideas off one another and be able to quiz each other. It will help you not get frustrated if you do not understand something, since there is more than just you studying. Even if you go off on tangents or girl talk, it is completely fine because you know what, you deserve it!

Sometimes if you do not have a car on campus you may feel trapped and just need to take a breath of fresh air. Catch the bus or splurge on an uber and pamper yourselves with going out to dinner or shopping, it will help distract you from the never ending readings and homework and it is sure to improve your mood.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
